When RAM was coming out I was posting on Daft Club. Neil mentioned the album release date was in May so I posted it on there and got slagged off by them all saying nobody knows and I'm a liar etc

Neil was right about when it came out. Fuck those daft club people

And I'll point out that what I said that time had come from a very similar source to what I've said this time.

Unfortunately not the same source - that one appears to have headed south, unfortunately (tho it might come back to me, fingers firmly crossed) - tho a source from the same building in the same city for the same the same company and with the same job.

This is why I say it should be right - tho with this being the first word i've heard from those lips I can't say if it has the same reliability. I simply don't know.

and, i'll just add, the info i've had this time was very specific about them headlining the Friday. While that level of detail proves nothing, it does add to my hunch that the info is more-likely right than wrong.

That's just a hunch tho, so feel free to make your own guess. :D

But that is certainly more info than you have received regarding Sheeran I take it?

(as far as I'm aware he is just being rumoured because 'he makes sense')

Imagine DP, Radiohead, Roses as a trio. Fuck me.

The Sun (i think?) has reported that Sheeran is the Saturday headliner, so that's where that info has come from although i don't think Neil has had any direct info himself that says it's Sheeran which is why he believes in the Daft Punk info more. i'm more inclined to believe the Sheeran thing because of how, at this time, more realistic it seems due to Daft Punk not having announced anything. as soon as they announce something/anything i'll be able to start believing

I've heard nothing about Sheeran, tho that doesn't necessarily mean nothing's happening there. I only hear what I hear.

Yep, that's my take too.

Yeah, the sun said he's headlining, but this time last year they were saying the Foos were headlining this year and not Muse, which implies to me they're making it up when they've got space they need to fill. Knowing a few people who work/worked on those sorts of tabloid pages I know with certainty they do make stuff up out of nothing at all when they do have space to fill.

I've also had word on a few tabloid writers who I should tend to believe because they try not to make it up - tho the named person for that piece wasn't one of I have info on.

I'd say that if anything live is announced for DP then, in light of what I heard of them, that's the time to start believing with certainty that they'll be at Glasto.

That's pretty much my take on things. Won't think they are playing without confirmation they are touring first.

Although it seems they are, nothing has been announced yet. Although your info sounds promising. Cheers for the tidbits as always Neil

Apparently www.Alive2017.com was registered in Panama.

Make of that what you will.

it's really just an anonymous registration system, much as is used for the real DP website (tho that uses a different one).

That could have been used to hide some details connected to DP, or it could have been used to hide the faker who created the alive2017 site.

It was the first thing I looked at, before I even looked at the website. It doesn't reveal anything useful either way.

2 bands with 1.5 albums worth of good material each and one with quite a lot of good songs but are still just a band!

surely similar tags could be placed on almost any headliner they booked though? damn the organisers and their thinking 'just a band' is good enough to headline Glastonbury. we demand more!

So there's a good chance it'll be:

Daft Punk

Radiohead

Stone Roses

This forum's wet dream! I don't believe it because it's too appealing to most of us on here :P

It isn't gonna happen in my opinion for that exact reason  It would be as if eFests curated it or sommat

The Alive 2007 show was grounbreaking in it's day, particularly as dance acts didn't go in for that kind of thing really, but it looks quite quaint by today's standards.  Show production has come a long way in the last decade or so.

Even sticking just with dance music, off the top of my head Magnetic Man, Etienne de Cracy, DJ Shadow and the Chemical Brothers (particularly the set up they have in the Don't Think movie) all borrowed from and improved upon what DP did.

I'd disagree. The Chemical Brothers were doing ahead of their time stage productions from at least 2004.

It would be fantastic (IF I get tickets) but I think those 3 headlining would usher in the End Of Days.

With that trio finally ticked off and the loss of Bowie and Prince, I worry what would become of us.
