Really like Nonagon as a whole, even with the filler. But I fear the trajectory may be slowly downwards. Can be the downside of being so prolific. Thee oh sees last couple of albums, in contrast, have been brilliant. Are you glossing over the fact PMDB and Quarters - two of the lesser received Gizz records - came out between those? mungo57
Already looking forward to finally seeing them and the shows still 7 months away! Their live shows look fun from YouTube and that BASS on all the songs must be epic live.
Rumblestripe
Anyone else reminded of Phish and other (mostly 'Merican) "Jam Bands"? In my book this is a good thing, I should add. I realise that the existence of "Phish" as something other than a flavour of Ben & Jerry's may come as a shock to a few.
mungo57
whoever was talking about Thee oh Sees good on ya, been listening today and they're really good. Im surprised all this music has slipped by recently without me paying attention. 10 years ago I was totally on point with new bands. Not that they are a new band but you get me. Castlemania totally different - more late Beatlesish - but also worth a listen. A weird exits is the one I've been listening to. Some good shit there. Will give the other ones you mentioned a go too. To be fair I've heard of them before but they put them in the 'emo' section of my local indie record store so for that reason alone I've given them a miss until now! These guys are great as well, don't be put off by the name like I was for a while if you haven't heard them, they're better than their joke name suggests.
dentalplan
FMB previews are here. Think you lads dismissing Rattlesnake as too similar to previous will be pleased. I think it sounds ballin', tho I only really dabbled as not to spoil it too much. February is so frigging far away.
