Buying a Campervan Ticket when we don't have tickets yet

Hi all,

So if we had managed to get tickets in the general sale, this would have been my 12th Glastonbury, and my boyfriend's 1st (I know - where has he been?). However, for the last 3 years, I've been totally unsuccessful. I'm beginning to think that registration is jinxed, or I've somehow annoyed the Glastonbury gods.

Anyway, we were hoping this year to go in a Campervan. Am I correct in thinking there's no way we can buy a campervan ticket without owning tickets? 4 of our group got lucky - so we could ask them - but this is a risk if we don't manage to get ours, right? Or are there refunds on Campervan tickets? Ideally, we'd like to buy one, get tickets in the resale (YEAH) and go as happy bunnies. But if we buy one (via our friends) don't get resales and fail to go will we be 100 pound down to add to the sting of not attending?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

You need a valid ticket - tho not a coach ticket - to buy a cv ticket.

You could get your mates to buy one, tho the rules supposedly are that the person who bought the cv ticket would need to be in the cv when the cv went thru the gates.

I say 'supposedly' because this year was the first year it was meant to work that way, but it didn't do - tho was probably only because the whole system fell apart due to the traffic chaos, because the checks on the cv field gate were the least of any years I've used the CV field.

The named cv tickets have been introduced to stop them being touted, and because the festival makes the big efforts needed with all of their other anti-touting checks it's reasonable to assume they'll do the same with the cv tickets if everything is working as it should do (which it normally does).

Thank you!!

So by the looks of things - we'll twist a pals arm, ask them to book for us, and offer them a lift in.

But am I right in thinking they wont offer a refund for a campervan ticket unless its a duplicate?

GAh!

No, they WILL refund any ticket you give back in time. The duplicate issue came about because there was no safeguard to say that the reg number you used had already bought a CV ticket, like it does for the general sale. So, the groups that all tried to buy 1 ticket for the 1 person driving the CV bought several tickets which then had to be returned at £10 charge each.
