Citadel 2017

Headliner announcement Tuesday, I actually rather enjoyed Citadel last year, looking forward to who's to be announced. Difficult to predict though, Bombay Bicycle Club 1st Year and Sigur Ros 2nd Year make for two very different acts!

They had a survey up a while back that had a load of potential headliner options but they seem to have taken it down now, anyone remember who was on it? I think Bon Iver was, which would make sense, especially with all those London dates getting cancelled. Though it would be an announcement that'd feel like a bit of a kick in the balls for those of us who had tickets for them.

Pretty big headliner for the festival but a very uninspiring one assuming it'll be Foals finishing off their current album tour

Great booking getting Foals on an exclusive. Though I do feel many will like me be a bit burned out on them after their rigorous touring the last couple years. Still, good stuff on the rest of the bill could draw me in.

Either they were punching well above their weight with positions last year or have dropped quicker than the album did.

Or Citadel is going for bigger headliners, although tbh considering Foals played pretty much everywhere last year (and in the preceding years) they probably didn't have many festival options left in the UK

yup, they didn't really have anywhere to go.

Tbh, Foals are the biggest headliner Citadel has had. All the other headliners have been sold as co-headliners, I'm sure.

Despite it being (probably) the last of many UK shows of them touring WWD, it's still strong.

It's also cheaper this year; £10 less. If I wasn't going to Latitude (if the lineup is good), then I'd probably go to this! I wouldn't expect to see half price tickets this time, personally.

foals like playing smaller festivals (not suggesting they are massive) for example a couple of years ago after the release of WWD they played Margate Dreamland festival

Extremely pleased with this, I presumed that Foals would take a few years break after their rigorous touring over the last few years, so this is a massive treat. They were the best headliner at R&L last year by some distance.

It's only been going two years but no, not yet.

They were trying to get people on site like crazy as the festival drew near last time. Should think the 20% price cut and the larger headliner will see things go a bit easier for them this year however.

£40 for Foals alone isn't bad, I paid more for that to see them at Wembley so I'll be buying a ticket for this

Isn't it just the pre sale price that is £10 less?

Just got mine, what a shambles that presale was. Presale link emailed 5 minutes before on sale and then the link turned out to be incorrect. Luckily found one on Twitter.

Yes there was the option for 'Release 1' at £45 (incl. fees) and 'Release 2' at £55

really really angry about the presale. the link didn't work so now i'm stuck with 1. more expensive tickets 2. having to fight others for one.

just received the e-mail 10 minutes too late, would've been £10 cheaper but oh well. They're a relatively small festival and I'd pay £50 to see foals anywhere else so.
