If these Foo Fighter ticket things are going out to fans of the band, then if it is a way of announcing Glastonbury then it's not really a great way of doing it. Considering the majority of fans probably don't have or won't be able to get hold of a ticket. 

It's like, we're doing this great thing!!...that you can't go to...probably...but we just wanted to let you know.

I think the connection is, that everyone who has received a ticket, also has a Glasto ticket.

 

Who also is signed up to the foo's mailers....

It's incredibly intriguing. I think their would be a large cross over of people with Glasto tickets, who are also on their mailing list. Might just be pot luck, who knows. They've followed a couple of people on their twitter, who all have something to do with Glasto in their bio and have Obelisk tickets..

Didn't the Thingy tweet earlier that there are now people who got a Foo Fighters ticket & are not going to Glasto?
