I've seen more fights at gigs in the north, because I live in the north. In fact the first furthest south I've ever been to a gig is Pilton. And it doesn't often kick off there.

Actually, it doesn't often kick off when I go to gigs in Manchester either.

Fights improve Courteeners gigs as they help to pass the time and are usually less painful than tuning in to what's happening onstage.

I got headbutted at arctic monkeys at Old trafford cricket ground in 2007. My mate is a burnley fan, he was talking to a guy with a burnley hat on.

The guy said to me "How long you been watching the clarets for?"

"I said, Im not a burnley fan, but been to games with him"

He then said, "whats wrong with burnley." Nutted me - broke my nose & Ran off.

That was just before they came on... so I didnt see the gig.

It was at the front right in the middle front of the pit, sorted out pretty quickly though....probably a drink related couple of minutes. Birmingham at Offspring was a worse one.

Absolute c**ts trick, I had a similar incident eating a burger in Sunderland.

Since posting on the thread earlier Im trying to think and for all my years of gigs I cant think of one ive seen a fight..

I do accept ive been a mess at some though

Sorry to bring this back on topic but with all the recent self-confirmations of small stage placings and time slots, is it just me that thinks another announcement is very imminent?

In every one of the last 7 years, there has been a line-up announcement between the date the resale was announced and it taking place.

2009 - Headliners (weeks between the dates)

2010 - West Holts 

2011 - T&C, WH and Main Stages

2013 - Main Stages 

2014 - 1st Poster

2015 - 1st Poster

2016 - Kidz Field

Hard to say. If you look at 2014 and 15, we already have that poster at this stage so it won't be the same as that.

In 2011 & 13, although we got the main stages, we hadn't had a poster prior to that so it won't be the same as then. 

2009 was over 2 months between announcement of the date and the resale. So different again.

2010 we got West Holts but didn't get an initial lineup poster before the resale and subsequent main stages reveal a week later.

In 2016 we got the 1st poster at end of March but nothing else apart from the resale dates (and the D'Angelo thing but that doesn't count). Whereas this year we got Blossoms and Julia Jacklin.

But... I think we'll get something before Thursday. Maybe Kidz Field again, West Holts is a possibility, maybe T&C.

But we can still say #ThereIsNoPattern

I really hope we get a stages poster before the complete breakdown. I think it's unlikely given their recent trend towards all the smaller stages having their own moment in the spotlight, but at least the main five would be good. If they've really go some big names to drop, would they leave it until the end of May with the stage times?

Realistically, I'm expecting a poster a week starting from the end of this month.

Me too. A map can be so revealing and I also like to imagine where to camp cos I've managed to change it every year that I've been. I reckon we'll have something in the next couple of days

I was looking at the 2016 map earlier and hoping for the new map soon.

There is no pattern but, the last few years it has been released just after the resale....

Strange thinking, but I imagine if they have booked Liam Gallagher, they probably won't be able to announce him until there's no chance anyone else can buy tickets.

I hate to say it but I think apart from The Glade and other 'smaller areas' like the last year or two we will get little or probably nothing until the end of May.

 

And that means a pattern.

Getting the Glade and maybe Avalon or T&C soon would be great! Really look forward to seeing what's on on them, and that would tide me over for another few weeks for sure.
