Campervaning together arriving at different times

Hi people 

We are a group with two campers, however half of us are going on Wednesday but the others can't leave till Thursday due to childcare.

any tips for getting our campers together? I know the Glastonbury site states you can't reserve spaces but just wondered if anyone had any success in the past? the guys arriving late are the ones with the Gucci camper with the shower etc so would like them with us!

It's highly unlikely that you will be able to reserve space due to the way the fields are filled up. Unless you arrive together then there will be no way of your other vehicle getting to where you are pitched when they turn up a day later. 

Could you take both campers on the Wednesday and they come down by another means (train or something) on the Thursday?

Yeah we considered that but his camper ticket is in his name, so didn't think they would let us in with it.

 

its no biggie really, just would have been nice to all be together

Hi, was the ticket bought as part of the same purchase as your ticket?  I undertand some people have had some joy having See swat around names in a group purchase.

i think this is really dependent on where you get parked (which field) and by who (experience of the steward)..these fields are so popular now that arriving together is the only guarantee.

A few years ago i parked my caravan on the first row of E23 (they tend to park in neat little rows in that field).. I knew my friend was an hour behind is his camper so i parked 'badly' and got stressed when the steward asked me to straighten up and get closer to the neighbour.. also told them i needed space for a full awning on the other side (which i did)..my mate was able to park on my pitch after i had moved over some..

2 years ago in E19 was the other way round (campervan buddy there first - i was an hour behind).. The parking in E19 is more random and so we were able to thread our way through and park the caravan with them fairly easily...

However, on both occasions we arrived Tuesday afternoon.. those fields will be long gone come wednesday..

Also, if you are parked next to the metal roadway, dont be surprised to see a VW camper squeezed in between you and the roadway come Thursday evening.

If you are trying to keep some space, make sure to let your neighbours know.. you dont want to piss them off later..

we've struggled to get them to save a space for people who are two vans behind us in the queue, so saving a space for a day, very unlikely I'm afraid.

Is there no-one in that other group who could drive the van in at the same time as you? The ticket can be transferred to anyone in that same group, at this stage you just need to take a printed email of the festival tickets order, and the CV ticket order too and they will let you in. I was going to transfer my ticket to my cousin, they said it was too late to transfer but if I took the print outs, I'd get in.
