Honestly, no. When you look at their streams on Spotify they have 17 million monthly listeners (96th in the world). That’s more than Foos with 9 million, Arctics with 10 million etc. I think they’re a lot more popular than people on this forum realise. What u gotta remember is they’re mainstream played by mainstream radios that aren’t just Radio X or Kerrang! - that shit helps I guess.

Edit - misread sorry :)

You also got to remember that Foo and AM and other bands like that have been going for years compared to 21p and are very well know compared. Also, 21p dropped there new album not long ago which will help boost the steams on Spotify. Don't judge Spotify monthly listens for who should be this and that. Dua lipa has mad stream stats but wouldn't say she's bigger or more likely to headline compared to AM or Foos

Any point in me starting a First Announcement prediction thread? See who predicts the most right or something like we attempted last year?

Yeah go for it.

spotify listens don't always sell tickets, think like Dua Lipa or someone whos big right now, but wouldn't sell an arena like foos or someone would

Looks like the announcement will be next Friday, the 23rd at 9AM. Tickets have been taken off sale until then.

If the schedule is the same as Download the announcement was Tuesday with tickets on sale Friday, can't see the announcement being on the day they go back on sale, drum up sales before hand a bit.

I'm trying to remember, did we get a pre-Christmas announcement last year? I just remember all three headliners being announced in February along with a load of other acts.

Na we got nothing until February except bicep accidentally announcing themselves

Nope, the February announcement was the first.

I reckon it'll just be one headliner, a week today, and it'll just be whoever is on the front of Kerrang.

Edit: with other bands as well, obviously.

Agree, Barclaycard presale is also Wednesday 9am so that's when our announcement will be I reckon. Maybe earlier like 8am, but defo Wednesday morning.

Extremely surprised people are missing the fact that the Download announcement was identical, Barclaycard presale on the Wednesday, full ticket release on the Friday - with the announcement the Tuesday before - willing to bet the marketing team is shared for both festivals this year and we'll see the announcement follow the same timings,  reckon it'll be the full headliners and a few bands too, same as Download.

Hasn’t Download always done it like that though? Thought R&L tended (with the exception of last year) do multiple announcements.

Download has always jumped about a bit, sometimes it's the full lineup, sometimes it's not - ususally they both have different marketing teams, but the fact that the announcements seem to share a lot of similarities I wouldn't be surprised if they're sharing teams this year.
