They did this at Paredes De Coura last year lol. Festival was in the middle of the jungle so you had to book a taxi home well in advance, completely fucked us all over.

What? PdC is in a village (with shops, restaurants, even a hypermarket) in the countryside, not far from cities like Vigo and Braga and the very big city of Porto. There are no jungles in Portugal.

90%+ of people simply camp onsite.

Not sure why you left it so tight, couldn't you have left 15 mins earlier then?

Apparently someone on Spanish radio let slip yesterday that Los Planetas will be playing their album Una Semana en el Motor de un Autobus at Primavera.

Makes sense. They were rumoured.

The big takeaway for me is that if true this confirms another wave of Unexpected bands as they can't be Hidden.

They can play late on Hidden (opposed to Ray-Ban). It just doesn't make tons of sense considering the way they are dragging the announcements until the festival week itself.

Los Planetas doesn't fit the free slots on that poster:

Any thoughts on Bjork? Ordinarily I'd always watch her.  Opener and Connect in 2007 were amazing shows but Volta was louder and much more direct than Utopia. Mordor  wind plus disinterested people makes me think it won't be much fun. Seems like a perfect theatre show but not festival headline.

Anyone else thinking similar?

Really like the new James Holden so thinking of heading there instead.

We went to a pub on the Sunday, 30 seconds after we walked in the door the heavens opened.

This is going to be my fifth. I remember it pissing down during Drive-By Truckers four years ago, and there was a relatively short downpour with a double rainbow a few years back. Other than that, blissfully clear skies the whole time.

Drive-By Truckers is the only band I can remember having to watch in the rain in the last 6 years.

I'm in shorts and t-shirt all festival. Mostly, I feel silly for carrying a jumper around that I never wear. But then I'm coming to Barca off the back of a winter in the Irish Sea so maybe it's perspective.

This is my biggest dilemma of the weekend. I love the new James Holden but looking at setlist, Bjork could well just be doing the new album almost in its entirety.

I'd like to see Bjork.

But not at Mordor, surrounded by people quickly getting bored of the noodly new stuff which they don't recognise and then talking all the way through.

Yeah, exactly how I feel/probably would be one of the talkers

Her recent setlists has 12 (out of 14) songs from her latest, Utopia, in addition to four other songs that are not amongst her most popular.

Yeah, I think I'd maybe be satisfied watching about 15 minutes of it, for the spectacle, but then walk away.

I'm torn because I didn't watch Grace Jones last year and I massively regret it.

I was way back for Grace Jones set and while it did look amazing the sound got totally lost in the wind. I can imagine Bjork being similar unless you get a good spot.

No comparison between the two. Grace is all entertainment, hits and unbelievable charisma. Was the best show I saw last year. Bjork may be a more talented musician but a big festival stage is not the best fit for her.
