Tyler and The National are playing Europe over the weekend. If that's accurate, I assume Jack White (heavily rumored to headline Bonnaroo) is out.

If that's true, he's certainly out. He's confirmed for GB in New York on the PS weekend, no one does Boston-Barcelona-NY in less than a week

Jack White is playing at Boston the weekend before his headlining set at Ney York/Primavera weekend. Given that he's been heavily rumoured for Bonaroo (June 7th) there's a pretty clear run of US festivals. I can't see him doing Boston-Barcelona-NY so I guess he's out after all.

Apparently they're currently in the process of removing the billboard by the Apolo. What will they replace it with? A date for the lineup? The lineup?

I'm hoping so hard that they will reveal the line up tomorrow.

Most years they have something interactive to announce the line up (a game, a video,...). But is it mostly announced in advance when they will release it (like for example it will be announced nex week tuesday around noon or tonight at 8PM we announce the line up) or was the line up just randomly put online in the past without an exact indication?

They will announce the date in advance surely. Helps create buzz and has been the method in the past.

Thursday seems to be the usual go-to day for the lineup reveal.

Jack White not playing is a strange one. Gabi doesn’t seem like someone who would just lie so it’s very odd that he said “I think so” when asked about Jack White playing just last month.

Obviously Primavera will get The National and Tyler, the Creator from that Boston Calling lineup but I’m also hoping for Julien Baker, Zola Jesus and Big Thief.

Maybe they tried to get him and were optimistic but in the end it was too difficult fitting around his U.S. schedule. I wouldn't say that makes him a liar.

When he said "I think so" the question was "Is it the year of Jack White?". As I understood it, he was implying Jack White would play in Spain this year, not necessarily Primavera.

IIRC, every year the line-up dropped in January they did it around the 23th so I wouldn't expect it before. Maybe in two weeks if we're lucky but I think it'll be closer to the 26th than to the 19th.

If I recall, the competition winners implied they didn't have to keep it a secret for that long, so I'm expecting it sooner than the 23rd. And besides Gabi very clearly said mid-January. I'd still favour a week today or the 18th.

Dont see why, they are in London on May 25th, can still do PS in thursday and then fly to US

YYYs are playing Dublin and London just before Governors. They could play on Thurs and left but I'd say nay.

Yes, or even the same day (see Skepta last year) but my point is that is more likely not to have almost any overlaping artists with GB because of routing logistics than the other way around.

I agree with you Nesser that it makes it much harder though they might consider PV as a prestigious festival where they have played before that pays well. Could do APE, then Dublin, then a few European gigs in France, Germany etc then Thursday or Friday of PV and back to the US.

If YYY's don't play that will be the biggest surprise for me...

Seems Menzingers will be one of the punk acts at Primavera too, if I'm not getting confused with the 100 festival line ups that have been announced, APART from Primavera, haha!

Maybe Primavera have an exclusive on someone, similar to BST have The Pixies only European festival appearance?
