So Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds are doing festivals next summer, would be an amazing headliner for Primavera

I'm expecting something like Nick Cave, The National, Chance The Rapper and The War On Drugs as the top line of the line up. Maybe a slightly more unique/heritage act (Smashing Pumpkins etc)  wil sneak in over TWOD.

Nick Cave and Patti Smith would both be great additions to the Primavera lineup. Makes perfect sense if they're about the following week.

I'm guessing Patti's no longer touring Horses like she was when she last played the festival either.

Gabi doing a Facebook Live next week about the PS18 line up, the last one was mainly rambling about the club gigs this autumn and the financial side of things. He's got to drop a few names, what's the point otherwise?

Does anyone know when the line-up is normally announced? Want to buy a ticket at the lower price before it increases but also need to sort a place to stay too so debating on what to purchase first if I'd have time.

It's normally around the end of November I think. I'm definitely not expecting to hear anything for at least another month

The lineup announcement is not normally in November. It's in late January. Last year was the exception.

d'Angelo will have been approached I'd think...surprised that he's ruled out Courtney and Kurt :/ Really hoping for perfume genius and cap'n jazz for the undercard.

Little bit of a festival update : new London Festival All Points East. 10 day festival spanning the whole time of PS. Imagine there will be quite a few crossovers from American artists. 

It's a similar format to BST Hyde Park I believe, 10 day festivals rather than one continuous event  .

War on Drugs and The National announced. As well as Popcaan and Lykke Li, Future Islands and Warpaint.  The XX also, but they won't come back to Barcelona so soon. 

 

Will be interested to see how this develops. As so far, most, if not all except the xx, could feature at PS too

I would imagine all of the above have to be fairly nailed on for Primavera now. Potential lineup is starting to take shape nicely.

Interesting. Looks like there will only be 3 days of music out of the 10.

I'd put money on at least two out of the National, War on Drugs, Future Islands and Warpaint to play Primavera (all of whom are repeats of course).

Expect them to all play on Thursday, as they are in London on Saturday.

Field Day, All Points East and Primavera all the same weekend. I would worry for Field Day's survival with that much competition...

The proper music festival (with 5 stages) will happen on the first weekend, so no straight overlap with Primavera (which starts Monday).

Field Day won't be on the same weekend, if anything, since APE will take place at the same venue.

Or Friday, just like last year plenty of acts have played late Friday and went on to play Field Day on the Saturday.

Field Day is moving to Finsbury Park and is staying on the same weekend
