From the NME interview today with Oli Sykes:
What do you think of the rest of the Reading & Leeds line-up? You’re one of the biggest bands in the world, but you’re also the only band headlining?
“It’s all a bit beyond me now. I’m proper out of touch with what kids are listening to. It’s scary for us if I think about it. We still feel like the underdog and I’m constantly looking out thinking, ‘Is anyone going to come and see our band?’ It’s not Download, and it feels a bit more like each day of the line-up is aimed at a different type of listener. I have no idea if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but R&L must know what they’re doing. I hope there will be more rock bands and artists from our scene on our day just to put my pessimistic mind at ease!”
Fulfil the wish of your headline act, R&L. Stick some bands on their day.
I will imagine by 2027 they'll be back on the circuit. It might even be Foos in 27 and Reading in 28 with Fred or Sabrina waiting. I think those will be the headliners though over the course of those years.
I will see her but she's not this big goat booking in my opinion. Just because she's American doesn't suddenly make it a huge booking. Reading only booked her on co-headliner with bloody Hozier who did Finsbury Park...yes he's due to sub the Other stage. She's headlining Primavera but so is Charli who is only doing Parklife. Primavera like many festivals aren't getting everything as jig as they did.
Zzzzz, f**k Chappell Roan. Will gladly skip her in favor of something different. As if crowd size means something about quality. Y'all remember Shania Twain's lameass set this year right? And screw this notion that everybody should be seeing her just because her fanbase is hyping her up. What's with all this glazing? Watch five years go by and people looking back at her as just some fad.
