he was still running the show.

Nearly every time Klopp brings on more-defensive players towards the end of a match it doesn't work out well.

Keita gets his spot when he arrives. Emre takes far too many touches. He's a unit so gets away with it.

gross or net?

Utd are spending more!

Both and no theyre not.

City have spent (gross and net) more than anyone. Net spend over 100m per season for the last 5 years.

Great stuff from Liverpool yesterday. Seems Klopp is one of the few who knows how to beat Guardiola.

Also, this.

WTF?

"Manchester United recorded the biggest net spend, dipping into the club's coffers for £160.5m - after replenishing only £9m from player sales."

Is Wenger doing some sort of performance art piece? How to destroy a football club and a legacy.

That's an insult to performance art.

Robertson and Wijnaldum were fantastic yesterday and Robertson has been very good for weeks now. For £8mil he looks like a bargain.

I saw a clip, I think it was Robertson, chasing down about six City players as they passed the ball backwards. He just did not stop pressing it. Phenomenal determination.

Ah yes thats just last year. You really need to look at these things over a few seasons.

Not denying both have spent silly money though, and will continue to do so. The Moyes/Van Gaal/early Woodward years were a disaster in that regard.

PS: M.C spend just £12M more in summer 2016 ... so puts Utd as the bigger spenders of the last two seasons.

https://talksport.com/football/transfer-window-201617-every-premier-league-club-ranked-net-spend-least-money-spent-most?p=18

And Klopp can beat Pep on a transfer profit, he's not asking for another £300M. :P

Yep Liverpool haven't spent a lot. But they've won nothing. Zero. Klopp hasn't won a trophy in 6 seasons and Liverpool have won the pisspot once in 12 seasons. Coutinho left there after 5 seasons, aged 25, empty handed.

Think Klopp is realising he needs to spend. The very odd exception aside, you'll win nothing in football these days without spending a few quid.

I don't doubt that spending is needed, but there's the good spending of picking up an under-appreciated player on the cheap, and the good spending of picking up the precise player you're needing to fil a specific position.

And then there's Moaniho, topping up his mates (agents) wages on shite.

Who actually does that and wins trophies regularly?

Also won the FA Cup in 2016.

Who actually does that and wins trophies regularly?

No one. Literally not one club.

Man Utd have the Real galacticos method in mind. it's not working massively well, but second in the league is hard to class as a MASSIVE failure.

Sanchez is a good buy overall though
