I can't see the standard of footie improving a jot. Bus parked, hoof to Fellaini, Andy Tate whining into a camera "Give it Giggseh" after 50% of games. Got to be Yeboah. (Shoutout to Los Campesinos! "We connected like a Yeboah volley.") 21 minutes ago, The Nal said: Looks like Neymar to PSG is happening then. Sad. Very Brazilian. Pre season or not, Liverpool look sharp and are getting forward at lightning pace, intercepting opponents play and turning them over for fun. They seem match fit and ready. Whether they can sustain that across the season or not obviously remains to be seen and I'd be inclined to say no. Especially with European commitments. The addition of a quality CB and CM would do them the world of good.

Dan R
What are the consequences of breaking FFP rules nowadays? I know Barca have said they will report PSG and there's no chance that €220 million could be afforded within FFP. Also really don't see how this will work out for Neymar (other than the ludicrous paycheque), the only way he could win the Ballon D'or at PSG is by winning the Champions league and the World Cup this season, and PSG are still a way off that yet imo. It could be afforded. PSG have time to make it back and sell on other players. Id image his image rights are huge too and they'll get loads of that. Also considering PSG are owned by Qatar, this 5 year deal brings him right up to age 30 and into the 2022 World Cup in Qatar so it makes sense as an investment. They can use him as an ambassador. But yeah, leaving Suarez, Messi and Iniesta is an odd one. Sad one on the footballing front.
jyoung
Apparently all FFP is, is not making losses of over 30 million during a 3 year period.

Not too familiar with PSGs squad, but they've not really sold any players yet. Plus selling big players could make winning the CL more unlikely this season. And regarding the next world cup, surely Ronaldo and Messi's time will have passed and Neymar would be the main man at Barca. I just don't buy that it's about him winning the Ballon D'or, and is definitely sad on the football front. lost
I don't see a problem to be honest. He'll stay in the champions league, both france and spain have two bigs clubs who dominate Monaco/PSG vs Barcelona and Real Madrid. It may pull more investment into the french league if they look like getting more champions league spots. Don't people get bored of the same teams dominating year after year? There should not be FFP in my opinion, always said it. Just a way of keeping the big boys at the top and the others a near impossible way to challenge. why shouldn't clubs/fans dream of having a top team like your chelseas and citys of the world? Doesn't really make a difference, just that Barcelona played some truly stunning football at times with that front three, and I can't see any team playing to those levels for a while now, which personally I think is a shame. Plus I don't want Barca to come in with a mega bid for Coutinho...

Hugh Jass
FFP was a noble idea, but it has been completely botched by being so vague that the biggest clubs (who it was supposed to curtail) can find ways around it. As said above, all it has done is stop another Abramovic/Mansour investing billions into some no hopers (say West Brom for example) and challenging the elite.
