Latitude 2018

funky squaredance

To throw another name into the pack (although it was mentioned briefly a couple months ago), what about Bon Iver? Sold out 8 nights at the Hammersmith Apollo very quickly (that's 40,000 right there) and clearly fits in with the Latitude shtick

Despite the fact that he's headlined before, Latitude have stopped caring as much about that rule. Given that he is only doing London next year and only played in Blackpool and Edinburgh this year, there will be a lot of people wanting to see him.

If not here, then I pray for EOTR but probably way too big for that

I too am praying he does the For Emma in full show at either EOTR or Green Man, but could definitely see him at Latitude. Playing a good venue is clearly a factor in him deciding where to put on a gig, but the 2012 show was really good with a brilliant crowd so I could see him being happy with playing Latitude again. Won't get that kind of reception again, mind.

Latitude would be privileged to have one of the finest lyricists this country has ever produced. Much better than a lot of the shite at this festival the last couple of years.

I don’t want to see Morrissey headlining a music festival for the same reason I don’t want Norwich  to sign Gary Lineker upfront. Sure they could do the job in the 80s and 90s but 25 years later they’re not the same

Don’t know if B&S are big enough to headline any more, and hopefully the bookers have decided Morrissey is too toxic/shite nowadays

Agree actually, could see B+S headlining BBC/6 Music/whatever its called tent though or subbing.

Morrissey I actually imagine wouldn't do a fest due to the meat issues etc...

Has Gary Lineker also insisted on doing footballing long past a time when he's lost all talent for it, and is using his platform to to spout attention-seeking reactionary racism, sexism, and other alt-right edgelord pursuits?

Gary Lineker is actually the inverse Morrissey. Preaching leftie values to his followers who appear to be mainly working class Tories that tell him to ‘stick to the football’ or remind him that he shat himself during a match almost thirty years ago.

Yeah, I know Gary Lineker is far favourable to Morrissey public persona wise. Maybe Pele or Cantona would be a good example of a footballing shithead, I don’t know

I was just making a point that one’s past achievements are kind of irrelevant if they’re no longer capable of performing to that standard
