Yeah, Edinburgh's not the most affordable of places and, from what I understand, the venue's shite too. Going to give it a miss.

No idea on the other...

O2 Academy is really good in my opinion. It's basically just a small hall. Sound is fine and anywhere you stand is really close. Transport links and parking are also great (for me anyway!)

Not seen a bad show there (with the exception of Gaslight Anthem and that's because Brian Fallon has extremely boring chat nowadays...)

Won't be having The Gaslight Anthem slander on a Wednesday night, thank you!

Interesting. I only got to The Gaslight Anthem live on Get Hurt, having seen the effusive five-star verdicts from The Guardian.

Alas, they were clearly checking out live there - and by the time they eventually returned for good, it was clear Fallon's voice has lost some of its range and power.

I love them to pieces, but with maybe the exception of the Manchester reunion show - not the one they did there behind The '59 Sound and its anniversary - they're yet to fully blow me away.

That said, the last twenty minutes in Sheffield this year saw them play my five favourite songs of theirs back-to-back and it was absolutely magnificent. Just seemed to lock in for that straight.

I think we're aligned. I love their albums, but I've seen them live 4 times and each time I've left thinking I probably won't go back again... this time because of Brian, I definitely won't (probably, maybe, we'll see).

Their sound just doesn't live up to the records, and unlike most of their peers, it just hasn't improved much over the years.

Love the band, don't love their live shows. My opinion of course!

Broadly in a similar boat. Don't think it helped that the first two times I saw them, Fallon sounded in fine voice but they were going through the motions.

That said, I really dig this live version - low quality, but still - of Have Mercy the first time I saw them.

Then, they closed with an absolutely sensational take on The '59 Sound when I saw the reunion run a few years ago, in what was easily the best gig of theirs I've seen.

But yeah, they could do with just a little more propulsion to their live power, and a little less croaky gravel to Brian's tones if possible.

I'm getting majorly into The Royston Club at the moment after first seeing them at Bread and Roses on the Thursday afternoon this year, as I'd seen them on loads of indie festival lineups. We stayed outside the tent but the atmosphere was great even out there. Looking back I'd have loved to be inside!!

Looks like the MK Bowl event in June mentioned previous could include Kraftwerk, Johnny Marr, The Cult, Billy Idol, The The, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Happy Mondays, The Damned, Public Image Ltd, The Psychedelic Furs.

Incredible lineup if true.

A hastily deleted NME article suggested this. Someone is probably getting bollocked for breaching Monday's embargo as we speak.

Puts to bed any ‘she isn’t big enough to headline Glasto’ nonsense

I will fully concur on that point. A single stadium show in London? Plenty can do that. Two in London? Getting much closer to the mark.

Two in London and a full UK run? There's no disputing that. I'm genuinely astounded.

What date are people thinking this would be? Looks an amazing line up
