It came from someone on here with advanced info on the tour now announced, so it’s no more than it fits and just down as a rumour so far.

Went to see the Cavetown show at Ally Pally a while back (NHS tickets). Lots of their fans having melt downs and seemed to be having anxiety issues. Might be a bit of a culture shock to some of their fans if they go along.

 

Anyway a very strong set of supports even if I am a little puzzled by Cavetown playing.

What do you mean by this? Why were they having meltdowns and anxiety issues?

Lots of crying, tantrums and people looking like they felt uncomfortable. Lots of people needing to be comforted by friends/parents.

 

I think part of their fan base are rather sensative souls and it looked like a few seemed to be overcome with the experince. I have never ever seen so many people wearing head phones out side of a silent disco.

 

I think for a number of people the noise and being in a crowd seemed over whelming, lots of people wth sun flower lanyards and t-shirts highlighting hidden disabilities. I think for a number of people, it was a save space carefully currated day by Cavetown.

 

Obviously, there were lots of people singing and dancing and oddly lots sitting on the floor through out the gig. It wasthe oddest gig I have ever attended.

 

I like Cavetown and think their music gives a lot of comfort to some people, I just do not see some of their fans enjoying a full on  rowdy gig.

Interesting. Good on them for working to create a space like that, but yes, it might not translate best to an arena pit.

Sorry so what happened is I posted that fantasy lineup thinking I was in the R&L thread, then edited it to specify R&L when I realised where I was. So it is just me giving an ideal lineup, it is not based on anything at all.

The Saturday looks better than many days I've been to and the other two days look far worse than every one.

 

Sunday looks like it has a lot to add though.

Below was the lineup with guests like Fizz & Orla Gartland. Also had lots of chill out spaces and friendly helpers wondering around offering assistance.
