They are in France for a fest on the 26/6 so still good for Glasto so far

Still plenty of tickets left for NIN in Manchester, though London appears to have sold more robustly.

Won't say I'm unhappy having the biggest arena venue in the country outside of the capital, but it is still a funny one.

Its the biggest arena in the country, full stop! 2-3k bigger than the o2

The 2 biggest arena venues in the same city

Its absolutely baffling there's not another one in London.

Its good though to some extent I guess as big acts end up at good venues like Brixton / Ally Pally rather than soulless boxes!

There is, Wembley Arena.

But you鈥檙e right re Ally Pally and Brixton, much better to do 2-3 nights there than an arena tbh.

i am so out of touch - i am genuinely surprised that NIN are so big these days.

i thought their heyday was back in the days of Head Like a Hole etc...

They're a hard act to estimate - kind of a massive cult act really, in that their fanbase might not be huge, but is massively dedicated and will come out en masse after a bit of buildup.

I'd say their commercial and creative peak was Downward Spiral era in 1991, so yeah, Head like a hole neck of the woods. Thats almost certainly due to my own biases though, cos i love Downward spiral!

And if they were playing Glastonbury it'd be a really quiet Other or an absolutely rammed Woodsies i suppose. But then they dont really fit there either! Small Download headliner, massive Bloodstock headliner? These nails dont fit anywhere . . .

NIN one of those bands I would anticipate getting the leg up to top at Download eventually - but those two shows don't really hide the fact they aren't instant-sellouts at this level either. (It doesn't help that there are upper-bowl-tier tickets in Manchester going for just shy of three figures. They are a terrific live act, but that line of inflation does you no favours.)

They did smaller venues on the last couple of tours, but 2022 was only a UK tour, I guess given the full European run this time playing the 2 arenas probably covers off the same amount of tickets as they sold on that tour. The amount of people who travelled down for that two night stop at Eden Project was fantastic. I don't think St Awful knew what had hit it!

I think we'll see them back in smaller rooms again. As for Glastonbury, I could absolutely see them headlining Other. Put them as one of the alternatives for a pop act and they'll pull, and keep, a decent crowd.

Wembley Arena a bit of a joke to be honest, feel like its just full of rubbish acts. I never see anything of interest listed there compared to ally pally.

Its also as said, substantially smaller.

An act doing arenas elsewhere would want to do the 20k o2 most likely (given the population of london), whereas an act doing like 3-5k venues elsewhere is likely to try and do Ally Pally / Wembley Arena.
