Weird Al tour dates

February 10th - Dublin Helix
12th - Glasgow O2 Academy
13th - Manchester O2 Apollo
14th - Birmingham O2 Academy
15th - London Palladium

“Weird Al” Yankovic is back with The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour.

Al and his band will be eschewing their usual high-octane theatrics (no costumes, no props, no video screens) in favour of playing deep cuts and fan-favourite originals rather than his classic parodies. Because of the no-frills, bare-bones nature of this show, Yankovic will be performing in more intimate theatres and settings in the UK. Opening the show each night will be Al’s long-time friend (and The Vidiot From UHF co-star), the legendary comedian Emo Philips.

“Weird Al” Yankovic said,“I don’t very often get an opportunity to tour outside of North America, so it’s a huge thrill for me to come back to the UK and play a bunch of songs that most people would rather not hear.”

His tour is full of holes, the man is playing a couple gigs a month. He won't be at Glastonbury.

For now, there will be an absurd amount of shows once its filled out. He did 40 nights in Manchester last time he toured

Yep for sure, they've not even announced anything in London yet and have to think that's coming and probably is at least a dozen more shows by itself. Assuming they try to somewhat meet demand levels, by the time the tour is all said and done it's likely to be minimum 60 shows / 750,000 tickets.

It was 1.2 mil last time i think.

He canned a tour in like 2017, wonder what the dates for that looked like as i suspect that would be the absolute minimum for this

I had tickets for one of the O2 gigs that got pulled. Remember the T-Day being as bad as Glasto.

With so many shows all going on sale at the same time it would be like trying to get a london coach slot!

I find this slightly insane for someone who is basically good at remembering things.

Me too really.  I love comedy/stand up gigs and go to lots.  There are MUCH better/smarter comics on the circuit than Macintyre/Kay et al, that you can see in small theatres for a lot less money.  It's only a short step from their "variety show" style comedy to Mrs Browns Boys.  Makes me worry about the state of the nation when these are the things the masses choose to spend silly money on to make them laugh.  Jeez.

It's not that deep. The relatable, easy to digest comedy is always gonna be popular for large swathes of the audience, same with a lot of media. You seen how much money Marvel films rake in? Or how many tickets Sheeran sells?😂

Is this the same promoter? I thought I'd remembered this ugly as fuck poster design!

Its Live Nation. Same deal.

those festival grounds have had plenty of other festivals before all this so its nothing new. Its just not going to become the one stop shop for niche era stuff potentially.
