I was considering wearing a bow tie but I don't own an actual suit and as we're driving up from Southampton we're already putting in enough effort!

We're all going, so if you want to say hello I'll be the bloke with 2 sons, one will probably be the youngest there and the other one is big with loads of hair.

Awesome! We'll look out for you. I'll be there with my girlfriend for the evening session.

A bow tie in your pocket is probably a good option to have! I don't have one and there's no suggested dress code for the matinee, so I don't fancy being smart for that in preparation for the evening.

Wow you are a funny guy, I bet Peter Kay is looking over his shoulder with your spontaneous humour......

You do realise that the Etihad has been sold out every game so far this season....even the Carabou Cup and dead rubber CL game and even before this season, City have been the 5th largest average crowd in the PL and top 20 in the world so the joke is actually on you?

You and many others will need to find something else to have a pop at Manchester City for soon 🙂

40,000 at the women's local derby on Sunday which is really good (I was in the away stand which was almost full). Photo from a very cold stadium:

Yes on paper and in the accounts, but were all the seats actually full?

Sadly that has happened many times in the past, in particular deciding 10/12 years ago to set up a whole stand dedicated as a family stand, which is great for the future of the fanbase, however cheap kids season tickets means they do not turn up for some of the lesser games.

They're playing a 15k capacity fest in Belgium which is kinda wild https://www.lokersefeesten.be/en/

Lovely stuff, nice lunch and afternoon drinking beer in the sun in Gent, half an hour train ride up the road for Damon and co, and it’ll be less than a golden circle ticket at Wembley all in

I mean that's quite the large scale demand for the guy. Impressive in its own way.

Also not to drag this back towards more football chatter but I'm amused by the idea this is what Mike Dean is doing now he's no longer an active Premier League referee.

There was a big story a few years ago accusing many football clubs of inflating their numbers for who comes through the turnstiles. Man City wouldn't be the first or last to be accused of it.

Which is quite amusing given that until approx the mid 90s the belief was that many clubs were going the other direction and taking a few thousand off the total in order to avoid paying the correct amount of tax.

Thomas, the vocalist, said on that gig that they played Brixton back in 2001, and they bombed so badly they were practically banned from the UK for more than four years after that. 😀

Such a shame cause that gig is practically one of the highlights of this year for me. They were so good.

I will forever regret missing my chance to see them in Manchester in like 2017. Really wish I could have made London work this year but no dice.

Completely with you on that. a brilliant show, and their new record is a stand out for this year imo. thought Brixton would’ve been intimate for them when it was announced but don’t think it even sold out.

Ally Pally, then Brixton. hard to work out quite how big Phoenix are now. still do well on the european festival circuit - just really hope they keep doing their thing for years
