I'm an idiot. I have got the same. I thought it was A and B block only. Absolutely buzzing. Very surprised they weren't £100 upwards tbh which also threw me.

Haha no problem, I would take your chances with standing, I've been in the unreserved seats before and they aren't great!

Just checked out of curiosity if I could get Green Day tickets for Manchester and was surprised to see they're still available in the unreserved standing bit. Not personally interested as the supports don't do anything for me and I hate the venue. If anyone wants a code I have one I guess?

What?! It was only a few weeks ago he's saying this:

"This is the crisis I’m in. The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the seats, but I’m more fulfilled making music like Pressure Machine. I found a side of myself writing it that was strong. This was the guy I’d been looking for."

Mr Flowers added that getting older means he's "thinking about the next phase of my life."

I think the Greatest Hits album was pushed by the label as they had planned to put out an EP with their latest singles but decided just to add them to Rebel Diamonds so that there wasn’t any market conflict.

Personally I’m really surprised by this tour announcement: a) because they’ve toured in the UK the past two years and b) because of the comments you quoted.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is their last tour for a while and there’s a band hiatus for a bit while they figure out what they’d like to do. Maybe they’ll put out some solo material in the meantime before coming back in a few years.

Some cheap seats for around £45

Not a massive fan of arena gigs. Normally prefer to stand but if seated needs to be a decent speck.

Will find myself being priced out of most gigs now due to the prices and would never choose to sit miles away from the action.

I looked at Manchester ones but the prices were insane.

Not just insane prices, but at Nottingham at least the floor is seated.

For my taste that means the atmosphere for the entire gig is going to be negatively impacted.

The unreserved sit stand allows you to go anywhere in the blue area:

Stand C and E is reserved seating

If you want a hint of a chance of getting a drink and to not be miles away then I'd advise getting down early. its a horrible venue in all honesty if you're not in the front bit. Might be fine if the general admission doesn't sell out, though I think it not selling quickly in the pre sale will be people waiting to chance getting front area tickets on Friday.

Front standing is 100% worth it there, you get so close. I'm gutted as we've found we need to do some stuff to the house (thanks constant rain for the last week) which means we can't afford the gig at this moment. But as we expected around £100 for general admission and then more for front, so for front to be in that region is a surprised. If we can get some nearer the time on Twickets we're doing that.

and for anyone who is in the front bit, there is a bar and toilets plus a couple of food vans, in the front left corner by the stage. Its just not hugely obvious. We only found this out after leaving the pit area and queueing for ages for drinks in the main part twice!!

Was just coming to lay out these sentiments exactly. I love The Killers, and they appear to have mostly struck a level of dysfunctional respect for each other that allows two of them to effectively tour with hired hands while the other pair ghost in and out for one reason or another.

But given Flowers said they had sacked off a record, I think Rebel Diamonds will be arriving to help achieve label obligations. I'd concur that any tour in 2024 might be the last for a while; they've been pretty relentless over the past few years.

Reckon it'll either be a limited arena engagement or a handful of stadiums, topped off perhaps with BST and TRNSMT.

Tool is about to announce a tour according their socials...

Was literally about to post this.

I naturally think as they’re my favourite band that they’d absolutely smash a Pyramid headline set (in my wildest dreams that thought shall remain……) but the realist in me doesn’t think they’d fit in anywhere at the festival.

other headline would be the only place they’d be put I’d think, and they’d need a longer set than is normally granted to that band to be any good.

I don't think a Tool set on the Other is completely impossible tbf - I'm not expecting it or anything, but I could see it happening as a bit of counter-programming to a mainstream Pop act on the Pyramid. Would be a fun set, so I hope it happens one day

Usually Other headline is 1h15 isn’t it? Tool went through a period of 90 min sets but rounded it out to just shy of 2h with a short intermission last year. They’d need a minimum of 90 mins for it to work.

if they did play I’d tunnel in if I had to!

maynard’s APC/Primus/Puscifer tour finishes in May, so end of June start for the Tool tour hitting festivals is possible, I’m inclined to think but as they’re pushing sign ups to their fan clubs for pre sales.

He seems to be a man of contradiction, Mr Flowers.

I was expecting the next move to be a Brandon solo album after an interview said sessions for a new album yielded an EP rather than a full album, plus this interview lead to a lot of people thinking hiatus or even break-up. So seeing them go forward like this is quite the pivot.

Well either that or some crisis talks have seen them adopt a different approach.

It's the announcement of a 2024 UK tour that's the big surprise. I believe it's going to be announced on or around 27th November, given I'm on their mailing list and got an e-mail with the following text:

"Get pre-sale ticket access for The Killers 2024 tour!

"Pre-order* ‘Rebel Diamonds’ in any format from The Killers store below before 17:00 GMT on Monday 27th November 2023  to receive an exclusive ticket pre-sale code."

I live near Milton Keynes so would like it if they did the Bowl, meaning we'd get signs they're actually using it regularly again and not having Muse last year as a one-off. Even if they are doing a reggae festival there now as well. But that's a location thing rather than any intel.

I'm actually not sure what direction it might go tbf. They did a big stadium run in 2022, then festivals this summer with Reading and Leeds and a festival-ish thing in Edinburgh. I like the idea of doing a theatre run, though can imagine it'll be expensive.

Some seem to be acting like this is the worst line-up in Download's history. I don't think it's that bad, but maybe there's a sign of where we go when big metal names from the 90s/00s stop touring regularly or indeed altogether.

The festival have had no problem giving acts longer if they can fill it. PSB were given 95 minutes, QOTSA had 90 minutes.

They've talked about a theatre run before - though I get the sense that, while Brandon and Ronnie agree on most things (and hence why they are the two keeping them alive as a touring act), this appears to be a point of contention. I get the loose impression that Pressure Machine appealed more to Brandon and to the returning Dave, to a point, than it did to Ronnie. (Just mere speculation, of course.)

Somebody say an anniversary run for Hot Fuss in another thread. That would sell in a flash, but it'd be terrific if they played smaller venues for that.

Based off last year's stadium tour on a commercial flop album (well 2 commercial flop albums really) anything they do would sell in a flash really

----

re Tool - thought they would like 100% not take the money?

i didn't think they really care about exposure etc either ? i don't know a whole lot about them so could be wrong
