"Sex Offender" - As far as i'm aware none of this Win Butler stuff has gone to court, or even involved the police. On the other hand, two members of last year's headlining band were literally charged with statutory rape in the 1980s and hid from the police for several weeks until charges were dropped due to 'lack of evidence'. It's a fair comment, if everyone had been banned from performing at Glastonbury on allegations alone there would be quite a list. To start with, Mick Jagger and David Bowie. FloopFiller
The fact that Arcade Fire were getting booked to headline festivals as little as a year after the allegations probably shows just how little their standing has been dented. Sure, they didn’t seem go be getting many calls from the major festivals, but I think in a couple of years when a new album comes out they’ll start popping back up at those too, albeit perhaps in lesser slots than they would’ve previously commanded. As far as Glastonbury goes, you’d think that they’d probably avoid bothering with them just to avoid any unnecessary flack. Yada yada they book controversial acts with sketchy pasts all the time, but I think stuff that’s happened particularly in a post-#metoo world is stuff they’d be wise to stay clear of - there’s no ‘grey area’ or plausible deniability anymore. They took all of his PCs etc, searched everthing for months and found nothing. He was guilty only of what he was found guilty of. Not even the slightest suggestion he did anything, downloadedd anything or watched anything else. And this isn't a Whacko Jacko situation either like Chris Rock said. "Thats how much we love Michael. Regardless of whether you or anyone else believes his story or not, they had someone on the Sex Offenders Register headlining the festival, which weirdly never seems to be mentioned during debates about people like Win Butler and Ryan Adams. Or John Peel in your case.

Bike_Like_A_Mum
Just seen the news about Standon Calling being called off! What a shame, not one I've been to but not good industry news. Sad for the regular creative teams. Looks like they owe loads from last year too! Had no idea Edited February 8 by Bike_Like_A_Mum

Win and Ryan were actually sexually taking advantage of women while being manic aggressive stalker weirdos in positions of power. Peel was a self admitted paedo. Bowie, Page and Plant, Iggy et al slept with underage groupie girls in the early 70s at a time when it was so acceptable in society that they wrote songs about it and people bought the records. Townshend did none of those things, to anyones knowledge. 34 minutes ago, Crazyfool01 said: Wasn’t it Emily that changed Name away from John peel ? Yeah. But she also would've been involved in changing it from the New Tent to the Peel Tent a year after he did an interview admitting his behaviour in depth. Not having a go at Emily. There was no one calling him out on this at the time. Not us on here, the BBC or his millions of listeners. His death largely buried the, err, fiddly bits untll after Me Too. beau1
25 minutes ago, danmarks said: My son just sent me a poster (presume faked) with Bruce Springsteen on it as well as coldplay and dua. Definitely fake. There is no chance a stadium size band like Depeche Mode are headling Other Stage or subbing.
Avalon_Fields
You can usually tell the fake posters because they’re wishful thinking with far too many big names on the list.
Supernintendo Chalmers
I think it's fair to say, unless someone like the Guardian pulls the trigger too early, unless the initial poster is released by Emily or the official account, it's probably fake. Got a feeling there'll be a few of these in the coming weeks...
