Generally does, mostly because Manchester is already on the tour. It's much easier to get back from Manchester to Leeds / Liverpool than it is to get back from Leeds to Liverpool, for example, which can mean that in additional to cannibalising sales, people will plump for the other out of convenience.

A lot really does just depend on the size of the market though. Iron Maiden did every UK arena on their 2017 run, and the only ones they didn't sell out? Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield.

You generally only make that mistake once as a booker though if you don't pull it off.

A Leeds absence from pop-punk tours can also suggest a slot at Slam Dunk however. There's a lot in play.

Born in Sheff, now living in West Yorks, this has ever been an issue.  To be fair, I think Manc comes out in the lead as it's more accessible from the other cities and Sheff misses out the most on arena tours for some reason.  Luckily, in smaller venues (which I much prefer) lots of bands do all 4.

Sheffield got a lot more before Leeds opened its doors. Generally think Leeds has better transportation links, again, for many.

Other headliner? Third down?

Defo there in some capacity going off those dates

I think with Elbow, and Guy specifically, he'll definitely be on site somehow but you can't rule out that he's just attending either for his own enjoyment or as part of his job with the BBC.

I don't think they'll be there personally.

agree, they only played 3 years ago - kind of act thats more every like 5+ glastos, hardly like they have released anything groundbreaking since last doing it in a pretty big slot. if they were lower down the lineup i think they would be more likely, but its a big slot to be repeating

Every 2 or 3 festivals since 2004. I reckon they'll be back. At their 2017 set, they said The Park was the best stage at the festival. Feels too small, but maybe.

I'd like to think they'll give them a bit longer out plus they're so boring it's unreal.

Well if alt-j can headline somewhere they would and headline the park same year I don't reckon it's out. It's not like it's a mass capacity venue your they've announced.

fair enough

would be a very very boring repeat for a prominent slot like 3rd down pyramid
