Scissor Sisters reunion shows incoming. Appears to be an arena tour - logo is being teased on Co-op Live this afternoon.

Arenas feel a bit ambitious

They did arenas on the tours for their second and third albums and I assume the fondness for the work of their first two albums should get a few punters in.

I feel like I could be amiable to going. Their discography has some belters in it.

They've been touring off the back of Silent Alarm for a few years now, i mean fair enough its a belter but they haven't half cashed it in!

And I seem to recall Kele years back slagging off bands that did it though can't seem to find the article.

Don't mind as cracking album

Yeah, I remember them playing Newcastle Arena in like 2010 or something but I missed it due to exams. I'm in the same boat though, if they focused it around a set around the first and second albums, could be a great night out.

7 years or so ago I went to a gig at the Institute in Brum. There was a sign on the door saying the next night's Kele Okereke show was no longer taking place in the small room there, but had been moved to a nearby pub instead (Sunflower Lounge, 120 cap). I'm sure that tour offered a lot of perspective for him.

Ooof. That is... quite the drop-off.

Let us know how demand is on that one. Expect it to be steady, if not big.

I was having a look at several acts at the Coop Live yesterday out of interest. Despite the prices, many gigs are sold out or not far off. Seems to be a big demand for the venue overall. Only ones I saw that seemed particularly poor sales were Cyndi Lauper and Gregory Porter. As Snow Patrol is now sold out, I'd expect the similar sing-a-long ELO will do so too.

Cyndi Lauper had sold appallingly bad there. I had wondered if there would be a case to dropping it down a level - but think it's far too many gone still now for the Apollo, and switching arenas would be silly.

Expect some price drops there, perhaps. Sum 41 didn't sell great the other night, but nor did they open the whole thing to begin with.
