Download 2019

I don't see the logic in KISS missing Download this year to do their own concerts and then doing a final-ever UK show in 2020. The 2019 summer of doing some festivals and some own shows reads to me like some major festivals can't really be arsed booking KISS again for their latest goodbye gigs when they can book better sellers or cheaper acts who would do about the same business.

If they can get Maiden, Metallica and Rammstein as a top three then forget about KISS.

Possibly something in that but I think the pattern of a summer of own shows followed by a summer of lower paying festivals is the norm and what the big bands now want. The precedent has been set by the likes of GnR and maximises profits for the bands. I just don't think Metallica will be doing festivals in 2020 either.

I've only ever seen that with stadiums - five arenas aren't really worth foregoing festivals for. A bunch of indoor shows in summer are what bands seem to do if they're shut out of festival headline slots.

Besides, a GNR reunion tour is gonna work in the opposite way to a farewell tour as people will be really desperate to get in early on the reunion tour and later in the farewell tour. And off the top of my head with farewell shows at Download; Sabbath announced a tour after Download, Crue did as well and Aerosmith didn't do any more dates so it didn't really come into it. Come to think of it, Slayer seem to have announced one festival in Europe, and it's in a country where they have no farewell arena shows so I wouldn't be surprised if they drew the line at that now.

Fair enough if Metallica don't tour but still, I think they can and will do better than having KISS again.

Gamely holding out hope you're wrong on this one and I still get a chance next year, funds permitting, to tick them off.

Disturbed sold out ally pally faster than BMTH. wow

This is irrelevant! BMTH are the next big headliners NO MATTER WHAT YOUR DAMNED LIES AND STATISTICS SAY!!!! Download have missed an opportunity to save the future of the festival by not bumping them up this year :)

You can still get Disturbed tickets at AP, and I'm sure Bring Me are doing two dates - one being sold out.

I do think they done fucked up by doing a tour of smaller arenas before the album is out. I'm only a shitmuncher but even I know that pre-release shows are where they debut new stuff in a smaller setting to see which songs work, and for fans to get excited about the band again. Don't think fans ought to be that excited about hearing new songs from seats fuckin miles away.

But yeah, it does seem like respected veterans seem to be the ones threatening to move up into Download headline slots more than new blood is. Would be tragic if Disturbed made it there but it's similar across the board.

Disturbed have not sold out Ally Pally but either way....if BMTH are to do APE....one it'll bomb and two it's no different to taking a sub slot at a major festival...it'll still be accepting the boat has gone and in essence not playing any higher than they did 4 years ago at Reading.

Positivity, man! Positivity!

Them Sales for BMTH at Glasgow Hydro look embarrassing. Haven't sold out standing, no tiers open. And hell of alot of seats available. Looks like capacity might only be 3000 tops and it's still looking half sold. Leeds Looks very good and mostly Sold Out but it is kinda closest to a home coming gig they have. One show at Alexandra Palace Sold out so probably both will be sold out for the show, can't tell with Cardiff and Birmingham but expecting Birmingham be half full. 5000 tops.

Doing a tour before the album out is weird. I don’t get why they wouldn’t just wait until January to do the tour.

I think that either Slayer or Disturbed will sub Slipknot but I can’t decide which. I can’t decide whether I think Slayer are the final Bloodstock headliner or not. I could also see Disturbed skipping this year and then returning in 2020 to sub. I think we will get one of them but unsure which.

Def Leppard / Whitesnake / Slash ft. Myles Kennedy / Tesla / Tremonti / Delain / Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown

Rob Zombie / King Diamond

Taking Back Sunday

Slipknot / Slayer OR Disturbed / Trivium / Lamb of God / Amon Amarth / Soulfly / Power Trip / Venom Prison

Halestorm / Papa Roach

Underøath

Carpenter Brut

Tool / Deftones / Die Antwoord / Opeth / Coheed and Cambria / Arch Enemy / Black Peaks / Starset

Enter Shikari / Skindred

probably because the european arena tour hasn't started yet. they'll probably be announced for a load of fests once its done

Don't know why Slayer was not announced to any festival except hellfest yet. And they were announced to Hellfest in june, maybe will be an europe exclusive?

Because they still have their own tour dates to sell first? - pretty standard reason.

If Hellfest had a European exclusive they would have announced it as such, especially considering that would make it Slayer's last ever European show.
