Why are Reading and Leeds festival announcements so delayed this year?

Sooo, been too Leeds back in 2016, Biffy Clyro and Red Hot Chili Peppers we’re insane. Really wanting to go back this year but just wondering if anyone has any information on to as why the lineup is taking so f**king long to be announced? Don’t they usually have a few announcements out by now?

Welcome to the forum! 

It's certainly annoying with such a late announcement compared to the last few years. I went Reading for the first time last year so was highly anticipating the first announcement in December! It is believed that the lineup is later this year as a new PR company are handling it. The general consensus on here is the we'll get an announcement with all three headliners and a few other acts in Brits week (end of February).
