Classic move. Claim to know headliner but sworn to secrecy, announcement comes out, then "yep I knew that x weeks ago but couldn't say".

I'm just going on what Mark Chadwick told me, and he told me it's ABBA. I have no reason to doubt him.

Could be I guess, tho it would seem a bit odd that they can't be announced before Download but they can before their show with QOTSA at Finsbury Park (particularly as they're for the same promoter).

Never seen them live so wouldn't be the worst for me.  Although with Suzanne Vega on I'm not too reliant on this being a big announcement, and my brother's dead keen on seeing her

When I was told it I got terribly excited. One of my favourite bands and they were amazing at Glasto on the Other stage. Need to not get too excited though as it's just a rumour.

The Hives are in Germany that weekend at Highfield festival although I'll be buggered if I can figure out which night they're playing, so still a possibility if it's not the Friday, but makes it a little less likely?

Yeah, I looked at this too. There is no clear indication which day they are doing at that one.
