waynewdk
Hi everyone, First time posting on this page, posted on The Glastonbury page before, This will be my first Isle of Wight festival, after 5 visits to Glastonbury, 1 visit to Leeds fest, and 1 visit to V Fest my mates got us some VIP tickets, so only found out I was going 2 days ago so planning is a bit rushed, wondering if anyone could help with a few questions, thanks in Advance, we are going to stay in Sandown 1. How much approx is a taxi from the Ferry port to ? 2. How much is a taxi from Sandown on the festival? 3. Is there regular buses that do this route, and will it be busy traffic? Looked at vector website, but looked confusing. 4. Whats it like getting a taxi back back to the hotel at a like 1am, plus price? 5. What does the VIP entail? 6. I though I read somewhere that you could pre book crates of strong bow , as pick them up at a slightly inflated price, if true are these only in the camping areas. thanyou Edited June 4, 2018 by waynewdk
Henrik
You are far better off using the buses than the taxis. From Sandown you are looking at a minimum of £25 each way in a cab. Buses are frequent and are more like £5 each way.
Gemrig
You can get a weekend bus ticket for £30 and this can be bought on the day. Not sure about bus times or taxi prices as I camp sorry. Haven't been VIP before but as you aren't camping the click and collect won't be available, unfortunately, you can't take your own alcohol into the arena area. Have a fab weekend :-)
waynewdk
Thankyou so far , not 100% but I think we’ve got a full weekend camping tickets, but just choosing to stay in a hotel as it’s last minute organisation, and can’t get down till afternoon Thursday, we wanted to get a pod, or pre erected tent, but they seem to have sold out Edited June 4, 2018 by waynewdk
Gemrig
Yeah the pre-pitched tents go really quick! Might get lucky and see someone selling theirs on one of the sights but other than that it's in the camp field only now. I saw they released something about some pre-pack tents the other day, worth checking on the twitter or facebook page. Think they were only 2 man tents though! waynewdk
Thanks for your help, planned all my bus routes now with the Southern Vectis bus routes, there quite frequent, should save a bob or two, going 2 sail to Ryde, number 3 bus down to Sandown, then number 8 bus back and fourth to the festival,( well to Newport bus station, then walk the rest) then back to Ryde port on the Monday morning via the number 3, if not too busy and late will try get the number 8 back to the hotel, if not it’s me and my mate in a taxi, maybe share with another group.
