Really? Am I missing something, I would have thought with the more subdued tone of his latest releases would have him moving into smaller more intimate spots not pushing him up to headlining. I thought all the Nick Cave to headline stuff was pure fantasy not a genuine belief that he is a megastar now.

If anything, he’s only getting bigger. That last album gets a lot of attention and critical praise. But I guess he’ll be playing big arena’s in the summer.

That's exactly what I think.

Kylie getting the biggest ever Glastonbury TV audience, from the Sunday Legend slot could entice Elton John. I can't see him accepting 1 hour 15 mins though. I think he's a 2 hours minimum kind of guy.

He played an hour and a bit for that radio 2 thing last year in Hyde park. I can see him doing afternoon legends slot, even though he is very big for it.

Taylor swift has to be doing a UK show with an embargo: I don't think she'd have any reasons to not announce unless it was Glasto

Wasn't Warren Ellis teasing some Grinderman stuff recently. Nick Cave to headline (The Park with Grinderman.)

It would do me a massive favour if Taylor Swift wasn't to turn up.

It wasn't an easy negotiation with the Wife for me to be allowed to go next year with a baby due in January and with her staying at home to look after said child.

Taylor is the one artist she has always wanted to see. I just can't face having to deal with the fall out!

I absolutely love how clueless we are compared to recent years

edit: especially given the whole ‘we’ve had two of the 2020 headliners booked for a couple years’ thing

Add to that the quotes from emily (I haven’t made this up have I?) that there were acts holding out for the 50th anniversary rather than playing 2019.

Surely there’s something big in store

I still think this ends the FM stuff. They’re finishing their 18/19 tour next month, seems unlikely they’ll get back in the road so soon in 2020.

They won’t play one offs.

Half their touring band are going back to their day jobs.

Well that's pissed all over my cereal this morning.

Unlikely to do one off shows but not impossible. I still live in hope.

However I'm expecting Swift, 1975 and Reg. Saying this though i'm still expecting a shock from out of nowhere.

EJ would be the one stand out act that would be worthy of a 50th, plus it will be the last year of his farewell tour, surely that means EJ for headliner? Probably not though??

FM are too greedy to play especially with not actually being on tour and to be honest having seen them a few years ago with Lindsey Buckingham I wouldn’t be all that fussed about seeing them without him.

Taylor Swift has to be honest completely passed me by but would be big news for the masses and TV.

its gonna be Chris Martin and his coldplayers isn’t it????

They did in 2017 (well, a two-off). I think it’s unlikely, but for a high-profile Glasto 50th headline, I wouldn’t rule it out completely.

Still feels wide open to me. Unless I've missed something (and that could well be the case given I've not been on here that much) the acts that are looking likely this year (ie Swifty/Mac) are looking like that because the dates fit, as opposed to there being info/rumours that they're signed up.

Not to say that those two won't end up being two of the three but it certainly feels there's more uncertainty surrounding the headliners at this point than there has been in previous years.

The other thing that adds to the Swift rumour is that i'm sure she was spotted at this years festival, must have been scouting it like Adele did.

Was she though? Is there any rumour of her being at the festival that can't be traced back to Gonzo of this parish and his late night cider bus nonsense?

We had a convo about this the other day; there isn’t usually much certainty at the start of October. Maybe it feels later because we’ve been fixated on this year for so long. But yeah we’re definitely only in the very early stages of this.

If CalGon says he saw her then he saw her, he knows Taylor Alison Swift when he sees her.
