Hart, Pickford, and De Gea were all always overrated. They were hyped based on potential that they never actually achieved.

Hart had been pretty decent, but had a technical issue with shots low to his left that led to a confidence problem. Pickford hasn’t regressed like Hart - he’s just always been crap.

He's regressed from crap to crapper. He was always mid  to upper mid table on shot stopping and crosses whilst top distribution. He was second worst for shot stopping behind Kepa last season. Those 5 or 6 mistakes a season have turned into every game.

Is now the time for Man U to to get rid of OGS. If Poch was available and willing to come, I would swap without thinking. I just don't see OGS ever doing better than 3rd/4th.

You trolling? United are going in the right direction, its going to take spending the dosh to get top 2 rather than a shiny new manager. the top 2 are head and shoulders above anyone else, by spending money and getting the right players in.

United are playing our best football for 10 years. Choked the semis, but going in the right direction. Said it for a while, ole is there for the long run.

Pochettino’s list of honours as a manager is as long as mine.
Odd question to ask at this time I’d say.

A manager that makes subs before the 87th minute in a semi final would be nice.

It’s funny though, despite being there for over 18 months now OGS has never felt like anything more than a stop-gap to me. He’s always had the air of a guy keeping the seat warm for someone else.

There for the long term mate. 👍

Liverpool won the league without a huge net spend in recent years. I don't see anything in OGS to suggest he is the man to take the club further.

Unfortunately no one left a Coutinho or a Suarez to sell for massive profit. Plenty of Jones's and Smalling's though. Although im sure fans are not particularly bothered by net spend to be honest.

We've had multiple title winners being in charge of united post fergie, didnt work. I am glad they are giving ole a go, rather than a tried and tested manager.

Ole has done well getting rid of the rubbish left by the previous manager, he is kicking out the old and bringing in fresh players. This side will take 3 years to build, for me he is doing it the right way.

Consolidating top 4 is important next season and building tge squad. Every year post fergie that we've achieved top 4, we have bombed down to 5th or 6th and even 7th one year.

Why pochettino though? Flavour of the month.

Available and with a track record of overdelivering in relation to resources. I think Man Utd are unlikely to challenge for the league title with either Poch or OGS, but more likely with the former. I also see OGS as a holding manager before someone else comes to take the club forward.

Do you think any club is capable of getting into the top 2 currently? City and Liverpool are streets ahead of the rest.

Did people think Liverpool would compete when they finished 25 points behind City 2 years ago. I can't see anyone competing next season, but in a couple of years Pep could be gone, Liverpool could be looking to change their attacking trio. Things can change very quickly in football.

Yes in 2 years, not next season though.

Fair point that Hart has regressed somewhat, but he was decent at his best, not a world class keeper at any aspect, but solid enough. De Gea at his best was a world-class shot stopper with average positioning and poor command of his area.

Pickford has even fewer brain cells than your typical Mackem, and it shows in his decision making.

Poch did wonders with spurs while he was there (including a champions league final). Its not just about winning the league or fa Cup....

He may not do well at somewhere like Utd but I think he's clearly a better bet than Ole (who seems like a nice enough guy who's out his depth). Saying that, I can see why they'll give ole another year.

Agree with that summation

Out of his depth, not lost a league game in 7 months(14 league games). Only Liverpool losing less games throughout the season.

Tottenham had finished 4th twice in the recent seasons prior to Pochettino’s appointment. His last full season they finished 4th with less points than they had finished 5th the season before he joined. It’s not as if he left them in a better position than he joined.

They could easily and arguably should have won the league the year Leicester won it. They bottled it taking just 2 points from their final 12. In the end finishing 11 points behind the winners and being overtaken by their local rivals to end up 3rd.

Yes Pochettino reached the Champions League with Tottenham. They lost. They also reached the league cup final. They lost. They didn’t get close to winning anything else, consistently losing in early rounds of cup competitions.

To suggest Pochettino was a failure at Tottenham would clearly be false. Likewise, to suggest he did wonders is clearly false too.

Hart’s chest-thumping “fronting up” after every cock up always annoyed me. In many ways he was the embodiment of the idea that “passhun” and singing the anthem really loudly will make up for technical deficiencies.

They don’t.
