Rashford has been poor in 2020, martial and greenwood have been class.

I’d sooner have Lukaku than any of the three.
However, I acknowledge that view is probably borne out of watching Lukaku score 11 goals against us in just 12 matches.

I love Big Rom, admittedly I’m biased from his time at Albion, but even as a kid you could tell he had class.

Scores a lot of goals when the game has already been won, like last night for example. Then you have players like Tevez who seem to score when it mattered, grabbing a draw or a win. One player I wish had a more extended stay at Old Trafford.

Those who watched lukaku last season at United wasn't shedding many tears. Overweight, lazy, lack of movement and couldn't be arsed. Which is a shame as I was raving about him before he came to united.

Rom was meant to move to Chelsea but ended up at United. He was one part of many problems at the club, he wasn't the problem.

He just did not fit into the style ole is trying to implement, agile players who have pace (rash, martial, greenwood). In his time at united he was accused of not scoring against any top sides, he was decent for united but nothing more.

A lot of players have come to man Utd and underperformed compared to previous club form, yet at Liverpool players seem to consistently over perform. It could just be recruitment but maybe certain clubs haven't been getting the most out of players, rather than the players being to blame.

I think it's unfair how certain players get called out for not scoring in the big games, yet others get away with it. I would argue Kane is just as much a flat track bully as lukaku.

Well that's down to chopping management, uniteds biggest issue for 8 years and people want new management. 😄

United have players that have played for 5 managers, different styles and people wonder why it doesn't work.

Would give ole a 5 year contract myself, bit of stability.

Really excited for the final on Sunday. Hope Bayern sun but could go either way.

I’ve been really surprised by how many people (the majority of my friends included) want the CL to stay as 1 off games from last 16 onwards. I love the 2 legged format and wouldn’t want to see it change, it makes it different to all other cup competitions. Not only that the CL is the pinnacle, I don’t think it needs to be changed.

Their arguments were how exciting these last few games have been, so attacking etc. But I would argue you put a Mourinho team in a 1 or 2 legged tie and you’re getting the usual defensive football. We’ve just been lucky that the majority of teams left this season were attacking.

The one legged format works better in my view as it allows a tournament structure  (similar to international tournament) where all the focus of football is on the tournament, as opposed to the normal structure where it is all mixed in (and diluted) by domestic league campaigns.

Don't worry about it changing. Even if most fans like the one legged format, the big clubs just care about the money.

Comes down to what the sponsors want.

As for the format, its been well better. Its not benefited City, in fact its gone against us. After not getting beat once in the entire tournament, Pep gets it wrong once and we are out. If us and Lyon had been 3-1 !fter the first leg, I would still have fancied City going through. In fact City might have sat deeper at 1-1, rather than going for it, which then results in a poor game. Instead we got a great end to end game with Lyon going through. Same with the first PSG game, when they nearly went out.

The format of the champions league is crap. Same clubs meet each other in the group stages every year and then most of them are over by Xmas, which leads to a load of dull matches.

Yip, umpteen teams from the big tv countries and seeding is the future sadly.

Noticed yesterday that Celtic have to play 4 qualifying rounds this season.

”Champions” league it ain’t.

I would actually prefer them to look at the FA cup. It would work much better if they could do the end of the tournament in a couple of weeks purely devoted to the tournament.  I think people would be much more interested in it if it was the only tournament in town.  I guess there could be logistical difficulties fitting it in the calendar.

I'd rather it stayed as 2 legs, people forget about the exciting games from recent seasons. 1 offs would also mean neutral venues so less fans could get in, getting there would be expensive, more chances of trouble.

Why would it, just have it luck of the draw for who is at home.

So luck of the draw comes into it. There is that now with who gets the home leg when but even with that there is disagreement as to who has the advantage.

Nothing at all wrong with how it is now, doesn't need changing.

I do appreciate how daft that last sentence is considering we're talking about football.

Along these lines one of my mates mentioned the idea of waiting until the end of the domestic seasons and having the Champions League from Last 16 to Final completed in the space of 2-3 weeks. I think that could work well if it was just 1 leg. The way it is now, throughout the season, I can't see it changing though.
