Are United just not bothering with the whole striker thing this year?

No. New way of playing football completely. Oléball. A squad of 7 central defenders, 3 midfielders and 5 left sided players.

Its almost like they still think the window is open until the end of August. They'll wake up tomorrow after realising they can't replace Lukaku: "oh shit!".

Roy using the word “beef” on telly was unintentionally hilarious.

A few places saying the valuation was £100m cash. I don't blame everton for not going above £70m plus players.. Thats £10m more than Madrid have just paid for Hazard.

With bonuses the Hazard deal will be closer to 130m but yeah.

Very difficult for the teams outside the Champs spots to attract the players to improve. With effectively losing Zouma and Gueye to PSG I actually think Everton are weaker this year.

And so it begins...

Farke has said Norwich won't park the bus tonight but you'd imagine after the game he might be wishing they had. Can't look past a Liverpool win. If Norwich are going to commit players forward, LFC will be lethal on the turn of play.

Tottenham Villa tomorrow night should be a good game and I'm interested to see how Arsenal v Newcastle turns out on Sun. Then of course, finishing off the weekend with United and Chelsea... Could be a brilliant game, could be shit.

New contract all signed for Hudson-Odoi. Crazy turn of events considering how keen he was to leave in January, disillusioned by Sarri. Just goes to show the influence Frank has had. He's come in and Loftus-Cheek and Mount have both signed new deals and we're expecting Tammy, Reece James, Tomori and CHO all to be announced soon. Obviously not the front page summer signings as at other clubs but a great foundation to build on nonetheless. Just have to hope some of these lads take their chances this year and push on.

I’d say it shows what happens when you’re not allowed to spunk millions on players.

Not necessarily but of course it plays its part. No way CHO was staying under Sarri. As for academy grads such as James, Mount, Tammy and Tomori... Sarri didn't watch a single academy match during his tenure. Those names wouldn't even be in contention if he was still manager. I hope we have learned our lesson from the ban though. We don't always need to spend 30m on average backups.

Zaha single handedly keeps them in the PL so he is worth £100m to them.

But they can reinvest the money they get. Now they have got an unhappy player who will eventually leave anyway on their books. It's ludicrous that they didn't accept that Everton offer.

David luiz to arsenal was a massive surprise.

Very happy with it personally. Offers loads of experience and better than anyone we have got. He'll be a good stop gap before we get a long term centre back in (or Saliba is ready to start).

Bizzare to me that Chelsea would accept 8mil for him to a direct rival but I'm not complaining.
