Tartan_Glasto
So, my partner’s nephew or niece is due to be born while we were away. I was going to take a mini Prosecco with us as a wee surprise in case the baby is born while we’re there. However, I’m struggling to find one in a plastic bottle. Is there someone on site that sells it by the glass? Maybe the cocktail bar?
JohnEW
I would be amazed if you can't buy fizz of some sort at the wine bars on site.
Gedh
The wine bars sell sparkling wine. I think the cocktail bars sell champagne etc.
jeffie
You can buy it in cans.
Tartan_Glasto
Cheers folks! Looks like a few options then. 21 minutes ago, jeffie said: You can buy it in cans. I did not know this.

Over several years I've never actually seen it. Apparently sometimes they sell it in lidl, but gawd knows when. There's also one that comes up in search results that's branded "Paris Hilton" which I think reflects when the idea was spawned (several years ago) and also the quality to expect when someone allows their name to be shoved on any old shite for cash. I have bought on site either from the wine bars or deluxe diner Edited June 20, 2019 by clarkete
ripcurl85
You can definitely get it by the glass from Tricketts as my hangover from the Friday of 2016 will attest.
ivan
Just decant it ! It may not satisfy the Sommelier at Fortnum and Mason , but i doubt he will be at The Chemical brothers.
sprocketrocket
You can buy it but the glass or bottle at the wine bar vans, but it's not cheap. I've seen sparkling wine in cans I might try, but I read a good thing about how to decant to plastic... You put it in the freezer for a while but don't let it feeeze. Then decant to plastic bottles and put the lids on. Cooling right down helps it retain more of its CO2, so when you open you plastic it's still fizzy. Yet to try it, but it's my wife's 40th while we're there so shall be doing one or the other... StoneCircle
You can get the cans on-line, however they are in Germany so touch and go if it will arrive on time. https://www.richprosecco.com/sparkling-wines/rich-secco.html
Fizzpop
There's a place that sells champagne, wine and (I think) prosecco on the strip with all the food places between the Pyramid and the Other Stage - it's on the left as you come from Pyramid quite close to Other. The chap that runs it is very funny and looks a lot like Bill Nighy. It's probably a bit pricey but that's champagne for you
BlueDaze
Give her a pint of cider... ”yeah, the fella said it was Proseccish”
Ruth1980
You can buy it at the ale bar near the Acoustic field, or you could in 2017 anyway. We're decanting some into a thermos flask for when we're there and the tents are up. It stays cold and fizzy!
pie_and_a_pint
I've just bought some tins of sparkling white and rose from Sainsbury's! It may be rank, of course, especially when warm, but it'll do
Bubblecup
Aldi have 200mls cans of sparkling pinot grigio, it's actually nice as well, I have 24 in my alcohol pile (the normal one, I've not had the rose)
brightyoungthing2
Just spotted cans of prosecco and various sparkling wines in Aldi too! On site I have definitely seen prosecco for sale by the glass too but my memory is terrible.. Maybe near the circus field? Sorry!

Make sure you pour it in really slowly with the flask almost horizontal, and that it's as full as possible as it loses its fizz if it sloshes around
p45
If my memory serves me Last year the Avalon bar was selling "bottles" of prosecco for 35 My wife has tried the sparkling pinot gridgo cans from Tesco and wasn't so impressed they were "about drinkable when cold"
