Getting to east side from South west

Just wanting to confirm my own thinking, I am coming from Devon up the M5 and usually go to the west side but this year need to use the East car parks and gate b or c to get to cockmill. 

Am I right in thinking instead of turning off when first signposted to do so, I continue up the M5 and take the next set of signposts? I vaguely remember a sat nav trying to take me the east route before and taking us up past the initial turning before I turned back to take usual route.

Sorry, from South west Devon, from Plymouth. That's the route yeah?

Yeah - that's the one.

Up to Exeter, then the A30/303 until the A37. Turn left and follow the signs.
