Think given Fender's trajectory for now, it is headline in '24 or '25, or nothing. Definitely has the capacity to become the major guitar act of his generation - but music can twist on a dime, after all.

Wild Grey Ocean isn't going to bin off Springsteen comparisons, by any stretch, but there's a shade of Mark Knopfler in there too.

Great, innit. Shits on anything off Midnights...

Certainly one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced for daytime acts on the farm

This was probably my peak of the weekend.

I mean Kendrick was my fave set, but I was shattered by that point.

During Sam I just had the biggest smile though out, nicely inebriated, sun was out, best mates in tow and I just kept thinking…..

WE ARE FINALLY BACK.

Having heard the 2 new songs that will be on the new album I think I’m 100% certain he will headline next year.

The new album will be huge.

He really is rather special.

He was absolutely brilliant last time out at Glastonbury,  I really hope your optimism that he will headline is justified and no other festival nabs him as an exclusive. SoEmily, get on the phone now! 🤞😊

If it’s the two I’ve just seen on social media, they’re great! Although you can tell he’s been working with Adam from the war on drugs lol

Totally agree he's brilliant and from watching him doing small sets and then onto Glastonbury and his own gig at Alexander Palace I am really hoping the new album launches him into headlining glastonbury

I'm of the same opinion, but I'll probably stick his catalogue on rotation when the new music drops to see if anything sticks.  My son and I arrived in the Pyramid field after Phoebe Bridgers just as Seventeen going under started and it was hard not to find that an uplifting experience even as a non-fan.

Where did you hear these two new tunes please?

Edit: Not to worry. Found them.

Am I the only one who thinks that Sam Fender/War on Drugs/Springsteen B Sides are all completely indistinguishable and bang average?  It's not bad, it's just really meh.  Bog standard scales, melodies, chord changes and lyrics.  It's so by the numbers it just wafts past and leaves me unaffected, which is probably my least favourite kind of music.  Just doesn't land at all.

Quite possibly.

Put some headphones in. If The Dying Light and Alright don't make you feel something then I'd be genuinely surprised.

And that explains the beauty of music. There’s styles that suit some but not others. I never judge anyone by their musical tastes. I love Fender, Springsteen etc but I can understand why it might leave you cold. That’s why Glastonbury is so good, there’s always something on offer that I like whether it’s  a pyramid headliner or a band up in strummerville.
