Sports massage too!!

Know a cracking one on the Wirral. She's evil. The best type. Well, evil massage anyway, she's a nice person!

Hahah😂 I've never had one but watched Greg Davies talking about a Thai Massage and how it felt like an assault so I can sort of imagine it.

I've started fundraising for the half marathon, I'm running for Rethink Mental Illness I'd be so grateful for any support however I'm not sure if we're allowed to post fundraising pages on here? Please let me know.

Can you pm me the link please ... I don’t know the fundraising page answer ... but I’ve posted direct links to charities before so hopefully it’s ok :)

No running for 10 days at least😔

Had a sports massage tonight and my right hamstring is quite strained/possibly has a small tear, gotta stretch and hope that my next run (allowed to run 4k in 10 days time) is pain free...

Sad times, can you do other stuff, maybe the X-trainer would work better? Swimming? Cycling?

Had my first run since my op (really did a number on hand, had to have bone grafts, pins and plates In the end 😭).

Felt good to be back, but a bit ofF the pace, partly because of the enforced break (no pun intended) but annoyingly partly because my auto pause on Runkeeper stopped working so hanging around for the green man at a couple of crossings got factored in to my time 🤷🏼‍♂️

Mrs Moth thinks I’m mad... I don’t wanna lose the improvements I’ve made in fitness and weight loss though.

Did you guys get a lot of calf pain when you first started running? My lungs are fine but my legs are hurting!

Yup. It get’s better. My muscles and lungs used to leapfrog each other in terms of which crapped out first as the improvements in conditioning were slightly out of step and one was always catching up then surpassing the other.

First run in over two weeks, only did 4km and very slowly. Still got a niggling pain in my right hamstring and my left calf seized when I was walking home. Great.

I upvoted that you’re back out there, then a little while later thought ‘what if people think I’m upvoting the pain?’ so I thought a word of explanation was in order 😆

Dragging myself back on track after a bit of a break (for break read: being a lazy bastard).

Riding to and from training has stayed pretty consistent and starting to feel the impact a bit now.  The training itself is upping slightly as well, staying out of the game situations as the contact is still too close for my liking, but I'm on the touchline mirroring the play without getting involved so getting used to that sprints, change of direction and pushing forward / back in a defensive line.

Big one was getting out early doors last Sunday for a 120km / 75mile ride. Felt it in the legs by the end, but need to start getting the miles back.  Got half an eye on getting a 100-mile ride done in the next few weeks with a mate of mine as well.

Got 10 weeks tomorrow until the postponed Paras 10 race in Nov and my brother now has a clearly stated goal of beating me. Not having that!  So ordered myself up some shiny new trail runners (tbf my old ones had big holes in the sides!) and hitting the tails over the next 2 months.

Signed up for next year's Forest of Dean Half Marathon as well after this year's was cancelled. And depending on how things look for the rugby season I may end up doing the Fan Dance run again in January.

All sounds doable, right?

Been back at work for a month now and been exercising seven times a week every week. I used to do five times but working from home is obviously helping! Had a few beers last night but might do a 5k later to get me to eight for this week. Maybe a rest day would be better though!
