How big a Camping’s plot do you get for a campervan (5m)

Hi all,

First time at latitude, and was wondering what is the size of the campervan plot in the general campervan field?  It says 5m but is the that 5x5m or is that a rough size of the vehicle only and you get a bit wider to put the awning up.

I think there a minimum space between each van but I forget what it is, you get enough space for an awning, they will ask if you have one, unless it’s a mahoosive awning you should be fine.

there were space issues last year, the marshalls did a piss poor job and late arrivals struggled to get in, the live in vehicles are in a different, bigger field this year so unless they have got greedy hopefully space won’t be an issue.

IOW and Kendal calling actually mark out spaces so everyone knows where they stand, makes it much easier on arrival and they know they have space for everyone.

someone on here or maybe a different forum said the marshalls have been told to be strict this year  on people trying to blag more space than they are entitled to.

we arrived on Friday afternoon last year and really struggled to find space, walking around looking for room it was staggering how much room some people appear to need and manage to blag.

Ours is about 3.5m in length, so don’t know if this is mahoosive or not lol.  Hopefully it will fit with the van, as wouldn’t want to encroach on to then next plot.

Never good when the Marshall's can’t be arsed.

The only way youre going to manage to get a decent sized plot is to arrive on Thursday afternoon/evening - Friday arrivals, particularly in the afternoon are almost left to fend for themselves im afraid

They shouldn’t be, everyone pays the same money. We only arrived late due to an issue at home. I was staggered by the complete lack of organisation and how much space early arrivals were allowed  blag themselves. 
 

last year was the complete opposite, very well organised although the Marshall parking us was a bit over bearing, completely went off on one when I backed up a few feet to put my levellers down, went a bit Italian traffic warden, I tried explaining but he went off on a rant about the fire lane, which I got but he then put a motorhome next to us that was about 4 foot longer which then spent the weekend half blocking the fire lane🙄🙄
