Hello Jay pee. Apologies, my mistake, I meant to say what area do you work within flood mitigation? I was wondering if you were a surveyor, contractor, whatever? 

I happened to look up a company that deals with retro fitting static homes around the country with polystyrene type blocks underneath the existing static homes, and the statics connected at each end to two rising pillars. Essentially as a river bursts its banks, the statics (and the services to them as well as waste) rise up and lower with the flood. I asked them if they could come and have a look at the problem that I had. They indicated that they had a waiting list of 1 year for a survey, let alone do any works! I thought to myself - that's a nice position to be in.

Bloody nightmare … I’m working 6-12 … no escape … although I think they are daft if they send our home delivery vans out in that … will see in the morning if they take sensible measures to protect staff

Head teacher did an announcement via Teams to every classroom in the school 10 minutes before the end of the day - cue massive cheers and screaming in every room! Half term starts a day early! 

I dampened the mood by reminding my class the mock exam they are getting out of tomorrow will still need doing after half term and actually they've now got more time to do even more revision!

One of them looked like he was one of the nutters who stormed the White House! I was expecting him to shout out ‘stop the steal’   Anyway it made for great telly and let’s face it, a relief that’s at least one medal.
