All wide of the mark so far.  Photo was possibly 2011 but the year is not important whether it was recent or a long long time ago.

Can we establish if it’s a performer or a performers mum?

The person in the picture is not a performer or performers Mum....but is very well known in their own career.  There's a mahoosive hint in my last post.

Once you get who it is the connection with a 2019 Pyramid performer should fall into place, although you may need a little Googling.....which I'll allow.

If the hint is a long long time ago then is it someone referenced in Don McLean’s American Pie? Or is it someone linked to Star Wars, Carrie Fisher perhaps?

Ooh....you are so close to the full house!  Yes, it's Carrie Fisher and the connection is Carrie Underwood but there's one tiny missing detail.

Seeing as googling was allowed for the last part of the link... Carrie Underwood's husband's surname is Fisher so her married name would be Carrie Fisher!
