As been mentioned, if they go 2 years in a row and into the fallow with whats considered "weak" in terms of lineup or headliners then it shows that nobody is truly immune from these problems of booking headliners anymore. And that their formula needs to be looked at. Get the best names for the moment and they need to stop chasing the dragon cause its not in their reputation to do so.
Both can be true. The fence saved the festival in terms of the license, the BBC centered the festival at the heart of British culture and saved it in terms of popularity and ticket sales.
