BBC documentary series 'Gods of Snooker' has been surprisingly entertaining. Featuring new interviews with the likes of Cliff 'The Grinder' Thorburn and Ray Reardon (didn't realise he was still alive).

I have watched all 3 of these and thought they were great.

Was made by Louis Theroux and 1st documentary he's done where he was not in front of the camera.

So ended up watching the BBC The Pact. It's alright I guess, well a it rubbish really, but easy watching and Mrs Q wanted to go through it all in one go.

However. It was very much spoiled in the beginning by a continuity error

SPOILERS AHOY - turn away

not that much of a spoiler and not sure anyone saw it. At the start they pull the chaps trousers down to his ankles and leave him. When they return (Twice) the trousers are up. At no point did anyone mention it which would be glaring. even when a lady who took a picture which she later looked at didn't go "Wait a minute". From then on I thought it would be a bit rubbish

We watched the 1st episode of this having read the reviews and whilst it was good it didn't grab me as much as I thought it would. I wondered if subsequent episodes got better?

I would say that each episode has got better yes, particularly the latest (ep 5). What's so interesting about the show is that although it's ostensibly a murder mystery it's more like a character study of a closely-knit town. Some really funny moments too.

Didn't realise it was one of his, although I knew he was moving in to making docs without him in it. I'm just finishing up the audio book of his autobiography. Been a fun listen

NME rating the Taskmaster contestants.

They're often wrong but worth a read through for a few reminders..

https://www.nme.com/features/every-taskmaster-contestant-ranked-2944155?amp&__twitter_impression=true

I should make it for tonight's finale. 2 episodes to go and at the moment no calls for work

You can do this!

I wonder if we’ll get the next series’ batch of contestants tonight as well?

Think that's already (all-but?) confirmed, as they've been filming Champion of Champions 2.

New line up looks good

Alan Davies, Victoria Coren-Mitchell, Guz Khan, Desiree Burch and Morgana Robinson

Only one I don't know is Morgana Robinson. I sort of recognise her but no idea where from. The rumoured line up I saw had Russell Kane instead of Victoria so she's a massive improvement on him. I really don't like him. Can see Guz and Desiree being good value too. Desiree in particular I reckon wont take any of Alex or Greg's shit. Not sure about Alan Davies. Alex Horne even mentioned on the podcast that he had a bad start. On his first day he was worried he'd made a horrible mistake and wondered what he was doing there but he did apparently get in to it as it went on. He also mentioned that Victoria applied logic to tasks in a way that no one else ever would, in a way that Greg couldn't handle I assume this means it annoyed the hell out of him)

Very much looking forward to seeing how Vctr Crn-Mtchll handles it. The logic thing you describe sounds exacly like you'd expect.

I've not watched the finale yet, did they say when the new series would start?

I love VCM and I like Alan Davies and Desiree Burch. I find it doesn't matter if you know them or not the main thing is whether they fully commit. I mean I don't really know Sally Phillips all that well but she fully committed and I hadn't even heard of Iain Stirling but he was great value as well.

Joining in the Mike love-in. Wonder if they’ll have a live audience by the time of the new series?

Did someone say we might have a Champion of Champions in the meantime?

The final series of Shrill goes up on iPlayer and the Jurassic Park cartoon on Netflix tomorrow. I saw Channel 4 started to advertise the Friday Night Dinner documentary, which is now tinged with sadness.

Both on my list. Can recommend you don’t bother with Woman in the Window. Waste of talent.

It's already been filmed. The tasks were all filmed after covid (10 & 11 were started before) and I think I saw on Twitter that they'd already shown the studio recordings in a cinema to get the audience reactions like with these two series.

There is a champion of champions coming up. Not sure when but pretty sure it's before series 12

CoC might be delayed by Herring's cancer diagnosis, op and recovery apparently
