I agree entirely. However, I expected Coogan to be excellent. Can't say I thought Clunes would be so fantastic!

Compare and contrast with the ridiculous over-acting from the likes of Suranne Jones in the overrated rubbish of BBC'S Vigil. Absolute crap, but she'll probably still win an undeserved Bafta!

Vigil really isn’t very good, is it. I tried my best to like it because I thought Suranne Jones was outstanding in ‘I Am Victoria’ but there’s just no warmth or humanity to Vigil. There are no likeable characters and the plot is clunky and lame.

I'm quite enjoying Vigil. Don't get me wrong, it's not good. It's very silly but takes itself very seriously which can be a delicious combination at times. If it had a longer run I'd have given up but I can ride out the 6 episodes to what will surely be an infuriating ending.

Looking forward to the last one of Vigil tonight. Yes, it's ridiculous but makes for good Sunday night telly.

I watched the first of the Star Wars anime things last night, quite enjoyed it (though I was waste deep in wine). I think the rest of the series will be quite different, based purely on the pics in the episode list, but a strong start.

Started Midnight Mass on Netflix last night. A bit slower than previous Mike Flanagan series but I’m invested and intrigued (I don’t think he’ll ever match Haunting of Hill House again).

For football fans, the Fever Pitch documentary was a good watch if a little Man Utd-centric (Made by Beckham’s production company).

Squid Game and Kevin Can F**k Himself next on my list.

Thought the ending to VIGIL was about as bad as the rest of it. What a load of old shite.

It was fairly predictable and generic but I enjoyed it for what it was - you know what you’re getting with those kinds of BBC dramas. My partner actually bet me at the end of the second to last episode that the main character was gonna drown in that tube. Easiest £10 I’ve ever made.

I thought Vigil was alright. Nice Sunday evening viewing if you can let go of how ridiculous it all was, although the ending was all a bit too predictable.

It certainly won't go down as a classic or something I'm dying for a second series of. Gets bonus points for having Fuel to the Fire as the intro song, though.

Going to try Alice in Borderland on the strength of Squid Game.

I've despatched Squid Game and Alice in Borderline over the past couple of days and have loved both of them.  Not something I would normally try but saw the recomendations on here so thought I'd give them a go .. gonna try Sweet Home next as that is apparently similar.

Just binged Ted Lasso, thought I wouldn't like it at first, but it quickly improved and can't wait for the final few episodes of series 2.

Just about to finish season 5 of Billions which should lead nicely into the new series of Succession.

Is Billions worth a go? Been on my ‘maybe’ pile for a while, and it’s got a great cast, but I’ve heard it drops off significantly as it goes on.
