Slovakia: Pohoda festival announced small festival (capacity 1k) with mainly local artists but Black Midi, Black Country, New Road or Dry Cleaning are on the lineup as well.

I had tickets for Pohoda 2020, it was one of my favourite lineups at all 😭

@mln @Newjem thanks both for the news

Croatia - I've seen festivals announcing, but not a peep from Love International which I have tickets for. It's been a week since Croatia was put on the UK amber travel list, and they've not even posted to acknowledge that. Really wanna know now!

Defected Croatia have been moving full steam ahead with a huge lineup and that's the same location but two weeks later, so maybe that will go ahead.

Yesterday Bon Iver canceled his late August European dates and Ben Harper replaced his full band tour with a few solo concerts.
Here in Italy there's a lot of announcements for reduced capacity events every day.
It's so crazy how news regarding late summer from each part of Europe are going in totally different directions.
I try and make a recap about August festivals:

UK: a lot of big festivals announced, most of them are sold out.
Scandinavia: All canceled (WOW, Oya, Flow, Smukfest, Beyond The Gates, which ese?).
Netherlands: Lowlands and DTRH going ahead, sold out.
Belgium: Pukkelpop and Tomorrowland going ahead with announcements soon; BSF canceled; Werchter announced small events (maybe also a festival?); Lokerse announced reduced capacity.
Hungary: Sziget canceled.
France: Rock en Seine and La Route du Rock still scheduled with no announcements yet. Check-in Party said maybe but difficult.
Portugal: Paredes de Coura hopeful but still not giving news, official website been down for weeks; MEO Sudoeste confirmed one month ago with Major Lazer and Bady Bunny, then all silenced; silence since last summer from EDP Vilar de Mouros.
Germany: uncertainty and few news by every festival, a lot of them are still scheduled (Highfield, Haldern Pop, MS Dockville...).
Poland: OFF and Tauron confirmed two weeks ago with announcements coming soon (still didn't came).
Slovakia: Grape Festival confirmed with some names announced. No announcements for months.
Switzerland: No news since last year from Zurich Openair.
Italy: a lot of reduced capacity events being announced. No big ones.
Spain: only small festivals in August, still scheduled, not giving news for months.

What else? And how are your feelings about that?
I honestly don't have great hopes on big events, but let's see. 🤞

Great work. Blockfest in Finland still planning to go ahead by the looks of things

Postponed to 2022 today. Sad news as it's a small one.

So, 2021 line up then..

I’ve taken the Lowlands line up and taken the local acts and acts that were due to play RW either this year or last years plus acts that were rumoured for last year and then added a couple of bands who could be likely. QOTSA are playing R&L the week after so got to be in with a shout. Have a funny feeling Razorlight might get booked for the Marquee. Caribou I think will close the Marquee for one of the nights. I’d imagine Foals will be in the next lot of Lowlands announcements as well along with Soulwax and Soffi Tukker. Fingers crossed Dua Lipa will play as rumoured to be last year, will shift a lot of tickets on her own.

It’s a bit weak but I’m sure they’ll be better names knocking about over the coming weeks and bands will be looking for a pay day after so long in the wilderness. Plus we’ve got Green Man and possibly PDC line up to come as well. Obviously the below is on the assumption all the stages remain the same.

Main

Oliver tree / Bazart / London Grammar / Dua Lipa / Marshmello or Die Antwoord

Angele / Two Door Cinema Club / Editors / Chemical Brothers

Cleopatrick / Sum 41 / Sigrid /Bring Me The Horizon / QOTSA / Netsky

Marquee

Caribou, Foals, Razorlight, Maximo Park, Arlo Parks, Aurora, Jack Garratt, Wolf Alice, Lianne La Havas, The Mahones, Tune Yards

Dance Hall

Soulwax, Mabel, Denzel Curry, Noisia DJ Set, Pendulum Trinity, Kaytranada, Goldlink, KOFFEE, Soffi Tukker

Club

Mac De Marco, Fever 333, Shame, Sleaford Mods, Slowthai, Altın Gün, Palaye Royale, Igorrr, Joe & the Shitboys, Nova Twins, Murdock, Beabadoobee, Black Country, New Road

Castello

Working Men's Club, Georgia, Kelly Lee Owens, Yves Tumor, Fatima Yamaha, Franc Moody, Biig Piig, Moses Boyd,

Boiler

Amelie Lens, Prospa, MK, Solardo, Salvatore Ganacci

Lift – Dry Cleaning, Black Country New Road, Black Midi, Orla Gartland, Sports Team,

Booth -

It would be a good one anyway, Soulwax would be great!
I would put some other big Belgian names like Balthazar, Bazart, maybe Oscar & The Wolf.
It looks like Mogwai are playing at Green Man.
I honestly don't think Mac De Marco will be touring Europe this summer.
What about the ones who're playing at Down the Rabbit Hole, the week after Pukkelpop? (someone between Gorillaz, Disclosure, Jamie XX, Slowthai, Jungle, Viagra Boys, Squid, Boy Pablo, Whitney, Iguana Death Cult could be in too)

Ken says most of those bands at DTRH are tied to RW. Think Viagra boys self confirmed for Pukkelpop 2020. Forgot about that.

I think it's very difficult to see American artists touring Europe during 2021 summer

Except those announced for R&L who seem to be touring late August - September like Post Malone and QOTSA, obviously.
@DDaveyou didn't mention Liam Gallagher. Don't you see him playng at PKP?

He was booked for RW 2020 which is why I left him off.

Don't know much more about their summer tour but Pixies Italian date scheduled for August 17th has been postponed to August 2022 two days ago.

American tour starting September 17th with Riot Fest.

Yeah think they've all been postponed. They were headlining PDC last year so I'd imagine if a big European indie band gets announced for that as a replacement then we'll get them as well.  Must be some bands that fit the bill who'll want to make some decent money for a handful of shows.
