So weird that this is the angle they’re going with. Like, I know Trump is just a racist so it’s not too surprising to see him saying this stuff, but the rest of the party seems to be joining in as if this is some huge ‘gotcha’ moment that’s gonna win the election for them, when literally anybody who isn’t a racist moron is aware of, y’know, being multiracial, and literally nobody cares. They’ve really got absolutely nothing to attack her with. Nothing is sticking.

they need to stop with the blatant sexist/racist attacks and attack her on her time as VP, the border and all that, and her failed bid in 2020. And maybe even policies. They're just going to keep losing if they double down on this bullshit.

She was pretty low key as VP, which I thought would prove to be a huge drawback to her stepping up to the main job, but it actually seems to have worked in her favour as there are no huge controversies for them to pick at. They’re trying their best to make the border thing an issue but it just doesn’t seem to be working.

Ultimately, I think she’s making it apparent that she’s an incredibly level headed and safe pair of hands which is what’s gonna sway any moderates or undecideds, rather than Trump’s lunacy. Nobody who was gonna vote for Trump before is switching sides, but I imagine most people who were iffy on voting for Biden for his age or health or whatever reason would now be all in with Kamala. Putting focus on how weird Trump and his ilk are also does wonders to show how normal Kamala actually is. She (and the Dems) have become the grown ups in the room.

Also, I wonder if Trump will attempt to run again in ‘28 if he loses, or if this is it for him. Obviously age is a factor, but I also wonder if Republicans will want to rid of him quickly and get behind somebody else now that he’s lost them two elections. I don’t see him graciously stepping aside.

As VP won't Kamala  certify the results? Trump will claim a conflict if he wants to challenge any results

supreme court decides(and not using the facts) like they did for bush vs gore!

It's the economy stupid not helpful to Harris...

I have been anticipating a stock crash all year. It has been overheated for too long, it was going to happen sooner or later and it could play into Trump's hands.

It's mental to think that the Nasdaq nearly doubled compared to its peak pre-Covid, so that's factoring in the economic hit of the pandemic.

But, that said, although the markets may drop, there's a good chance they will still be higher than they were when Trump left office, so that's a strong argument. Also, as we are now less than 4 months away, the stock market drop may be too late to have real-world effects on the majority of voters who only feel these things once a recession properly takes hold.

but people just look at now...and if looks like US heading for a recession, or near enough...that will further help Trump and his attacks on Biden being a disaster for the economy.

How much this affects ordinary voters I guess will be key.

and should get a VP pick this week, apparently between Shapiro, Kelly and Walz. I don't know much about them except Shapiro popular in PA and jewish, Kelly was an astronaut, and Walz is a teacher and maybe will do well in rust belt and maybe a bit more progressive.

Weirdly the service sector reported just now that they had better than expected growth in July, suggesting the US overall economic growth was still there in July. So there's already a few conflicting signals.

Guess we need a few more days to see which way the wind is truly blowing.

Apparently she’s chosen her VP now and they’ve accepted the offer.

Walz is the guy who came up with the ‘they’re weird’ line and seems to have become incredibly popular since. Just seems like a really cool regular dude.

Think it’s gonna be Shapiro myself. Republicans seem to really fear him cause he’s an insanely charismatic guy, often compared to Obama in the way he speaks, although seems to have a few bits of controversy behind him which have people worried - being Jewish he’s very pro-Israel and has said some pretty dodgy sh*t regarding it in the past, amongst other things.
