I took the advice of folk on the 'when will this shit end?' thread and went to bed early. Unfortunately my bladder disagreed and woke me up after an hour and then CNN sucked me in.

Anyway, this is why it was so important for Biden not to screw up in Florida, it just gifts Trump an opening to play his games:

I do think, though, Trump aides are also trying to use the momentum of appearing to win Florida to make it seem like the race is over…That’s a narrative that suits them, when we still are waiting on lots of data and when Florida really is its own unique (some would say weird) political island.

Good timing, now that the West Coast results are feeding in then it makes it a little bit harder for Trump to pull a stunt:

A major Biden donor pointed out something to me significant about these West Coast states coming in. Even though everyone expected them, they change the current EV count. That matters if you have any concern about Trump calling victory early. As he put it, “Am happy to get west coast EV now…will make it harder for Trump to say he won when psychologically Biden now has clear lead for awhile”

It's possible, but if the published numbers are correct he's over 200k votes behind with approximately 800k left to count so he'd need to take the remaining ballots by a substantial margin.

It’s all going to depend on the postal votes anyway. What happens in the next few hours isn’t going to be the final picture.
