its been 30 years since rodney king and a lot of people had that on their minds because that was on video and not one conviction came of it. So OJ Simpson got acquitted because of that later on.

You were downvoted for the horrible tribalism  "Goddamn I fucking hate liberals.", because one of the Democrats said something stupid.  Because Nancy Pelosi said something awful (which she did - I think we agree on that), that somehow means that an entire, vaguely defined ideology needs to be slated?  What do you think the tenets of liberalism actually are?

In fairness, there's often substantial disconnection between liberals and liberalism. I agree it's still tribal, but people who rail against the left are often railing against lefties, many of whom have barely a passing familiarity with the tenets of liberalism.

This is really quite remarkable.

I know the naysayers will adopt an “actions speak louder than words- let’s see them actually do it,” mindset, but to think where the states was one year ago with regard to climate chaos, this is very promising. I look forward to seeing how this manifests as policy change, I’m hoping a big move away from oil, which has significant geopolitical advantages as well.

people on the right in US started using liberal to as a way to put people down a few years ago...well Bush's time I guess...same in the past with commies and socialists being basically evil, and now we have woke and snowflakes etc etc...and inevitably people start doing same over here, and then those on left do same so they look down with the kids etc

The point Pelosi was clumsily making was that George Floyd didn’t deserve to be killed. In so doing, his life could be seen as an involuntary sacrifice which brings attention to the decades of police brutality against black people in America.
