Is momentum with Trump? Compared to a few weeks ago, they've picked up a little, but I genuinely think both campaigns this week have just looked exhausted.

so hard to judge especially with Algorithms ...... is just bonkers this is even close  . Not too long now ... just realised im off that week but from memory will take ages to figure out how its gone

Think every US election gets a modicum of extreme analysis to figure out what happened. Even moreso now that one side has a "We win or it's not a real election" attitude.

I think at this stage of the process, the polls don't matter nearly as much as the ground game. The field offices, canvassers, voter registration, money spent on ads and campaign infrastructure. That's where the Demonrats are excelling right now. Trump gaining a point or two within the margin of error is pretty meaningless.

I mean, it's shocking it's even close given the state of the man, but I reckon the crazier he gets, the more low-information voters are attracted to him as a non-politician, anti-establishment figure.

It is shocking...but it's also down to the basics, the economy, crime, immigration..and incumbents are getting kicked out everywhere and populist right are doing well. Majority of women are supporting Harris, and men supporting Trump, how much that matters on polling day we'll see. Also have to see if Democrats throwing more money at it and campaigning in those swing states makes the difference, may well do. Trump is amazing though, he doesn't even have to say anything, just feels he can stand there swaying to the music for 40 minutes, and maybe he's right. Anyway, still looks too close to call, personally I think that favours Trump because quiet Trump voters, Republicans who don't like Trump but like tax cuts and think Harris is too left, and young pro palestine vote not coming out for Harris. Hope to be proven wrong on Nov 6th or whenever we get the results.

Really hard to know what to believe with so much misinformation out there and bullshit pollsters trying to sway opinion in the lead up (and therefor laying the groundwork for it being ‘a fix’ if Trump loses) but the couple of people who I’ve found to be reasonably trustworthy seem to be reporting Dem turnout far surpassing Reps in the early voting in the swing states that matter. Dems usually outweigh Reps at this stage anyway, but it’s seemingly even moreso than it was in 2020. Echos of the red wave that never came in the ‘22 midterms. Here’s hoping.

Is Pennsylvania just the centre of the political universe for ridiculous stunts like this or Elon trying to buy Trump votes (legally or otherwise)?

It’s become the swing state that matters most in recent times given the large number of electoral votes that come with securing it (19). Basically, given the way the rest of the states usually swing, if you get Pennsylvania then you have a good chance of securing the election, hence why there’s been so much focus on it in the last month or so.

Also seems to be the state that polling is showing could go to either candidate as it’s been pretty level pegging throughout, although think Kamala currently has the advantage in the weeks going in to the election.
