If the rest of the nation shifts in the same way the Selzer poll thinks Iowa has, this would be the electoral map of the nation.

Unfortunately don’t think it’s gonna be quite this good, although god wouldn’t that be something, but I’m honestly coming around to Trump getting sub 65 million votes and Harris getting upwards of 85 million votes, and I think it’s gonna be all over on election night and no waiting around until the weekend to find out the winner.

Yeah I don’t think Harris will win Iowa, but it’s all about the overall shift in demographics. You’d rather be her at this point in the race than him, and if women voters bring it home for the first woman president, well - that would be an emotionally historic achievement.

Women the decisive factor here for sure. Seen a lot of right wingers downplaying the Roe decision and abortion as a whole as not important in this election and that the 2022 midterms was the fallout from that, as if women are just gonna move on and forget it two years later.

Obviously I know that it's never going to be that decisive but stuff like this gives me hope that it won't be as close as a lot of polls suggest.

The Iowa poll result means one of two things. Landslide for Harris, or polling in general is totally ineffective.

The margin of error on that poll is +/- 3.4%. So maybe not a landslide but hopefully the first signs of a last minute swing to Harris that could clinch it.

He's seems crazy to me yes, but not sure it's an illness, not sure he's cognitively diminished even, think he kind of knows what he's doing...he's almost about to become the president of the usa for a 2nd time.

well...maybe...no actual evidence of an actual illness apart from everyone gawping at the mad sh*t he says like he has done for the last decade but also that he's getting on a bit. I think people shouldn't just say he's mad but question why so many people like what he says...it goes both ways too, I have the woke mind virus that's going around.

I expect he is absolutely knackered by now. But no matter how mad is looks, I think he knows exactly what wild stuff he is doing and saying. I think he is just wanting to dominate every single headline (and online forum) in the world and he thinks talking non stop rubbish does that. He’s kind of right!

There have been rumours for a while that he’s hidden having a stroke, and he’s been noticeably dragging his leg as well as one of his eyes seemingly always being more closed over or drooping more than the other. Plus the obvious signs of dementia that have been slowly creeping in since 2020. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he’s dead in the next couple of years, he’s taken a notable downturn during this election cycle and isn’t exactly the picture of health in the first place. In fact, I think Vance and his backers were pretty much counting on it.

Surely polls that are within the margins of error are essentially meaningless.

I think one of the key differences that will affect the outcome is the ground game. I have a friend who lives in a suburb in Philadelphia and is active in volunteering for the Harris campaign. He says over the last couple of weeks he’s seen dozens of demonrat canvassers, but not a single one for the republicans. Their ground game is practically non-existent.
