Apparently California still has a sh*t ton of ballots left to count and it could even be so much that it ends up giving Kamala the popular vote. I don’t think it’s gonna quite get to that, but what an absolute 2016 level f**ker it’d be if it did.

While it may give some consolation, it would also in some ways more damming on the campaign. It would effectively mean they had prioritised racking up liberal votes they didn’t need ahead of the swing states they needed.

How long do they take to count their votes ffs?

Yeah, I know California is massive n’all but you’d think they’d be able to get a huge workforce on board for something this important to get it all finalised faster.

I mean, India had elections in spring where they had over 645 million votes cast including some being cast by people in some of the most remote parts of the world, and they had it all done within a day of the final polls closing.

At present, the gap between Trump and Harris is around 3.8 million votes. So that would need to find a sh*t ton of Harris ballots for such a scant consolation.

Most people there are too high to do anything quickly. It'd be like counting up ballots at Glastonbury Festival.

So not quite the blowout landslide it initially appeared, she just didn’t get the votes where she needed. Ah well.

Am quite enjoying people suddenly looking in to Trump’s policies post-election, specially the tariffs, and realising they’re not quite how Trump laid them out. Some great schadenfreude on its way.

no...but a lot worse than predicted...landslide in electoral college terms, popular vote, congress. There is no other way to paint this other than a massive win for Trump and his brand of politics. The major grim thing is that young people, especially young men, are becoming more right wing especially on the culture stuff...happening in US and europe. I guess it's all part of the relative decline that we're going through, and that will likely continue.

While I agree that’s the problem, I am yet to see anyone on the left come up with solutions in terms of providing them a different offer. What do they need to focus on to win these people back, what message, what platform etc. I feel too many just write them off as sexist, racist and stupid. Maybe some are, but it’s dangerous writing off so many people.

$88Bn to deport 1m people. So that's 88 grand per person. I reckon if you offer them half that to just leave, you'd do quite well.

Trump will do his best to bankrupt the country.
