U.S. Presidential Election

I usually go to sleep listening to the sounds of rain to help me drift off. I now have something new to listen to...

It was a drone of absurdity... And it was disgraceful. He needs an intervention.

And I'm not sure they should. Other than maybe "They trust and hope the US election was fair and just". Even though we know its likely all a load of rubbish, if we believe in a democracy then surely allegations of voter fraud have to be investigated in a correct manner. I mean what if just this one time the guy is right? Surely 60+ million people who voted for him are owed a fair election?

Personally I think its all unfounded and a load of bull. But i wouldnt want anyone who voted walking away from it believing it was fixed...they may never vote again.

They should speak out if a leader of a country is claiming electoral fraud without any concrete evidence. They would if this was a country in Africa for example.

That was....extraordinary.

I don't remember ever seeing something so utterly insane coming out of the mouth of a prominent figure, let alone the President of the United States.

Just, no words.

2020 somehow getting more bonkers by the minute.

It’s a meltdown. Let’s not act as if this is out of character or that we expected anything else. There was no chance he will leave quietly and his exit will be unprecedented. That’s what you get when you elect a narcissist.  At some point someone will need to show some backbone and get him to stop. It’s not easy but it will end but it will be drawn out cos that’s what narcissists do (speaking from experience)

Would follow an Australian election actually. Reckon it would be interesting. Not sure I could from the UK easily though?

From a psephology point it is excellent. Compulsory voting so a reliable history of data, preferential/ranked choice voting so it's not just raw vote but preference flow that matters. Class disparity. Australia's Florida in Queensland. Live progressive count so you can follow as the vote comes in. Tv coverage with sitting members possibly losing government or their jobs live on air. Antony Green making calls with minimal vote in. A federal system and a number of large states so good for an important election with coverage once a year.

The ABC don't geoblock election coverage so always available online

Does sound good. When's your next one?

Guessing could watch a fair chunk in the day time too.
